I agree in general terms .....however take Davis
Davis was an "almost" player ....at anytime you could not be blamed for thinking he could breakout & secure a best 22 spot at any moment
Likewise, some ....lets look at the bulk criticism of Elliot Himmelberg ...plenty wanted him jettisoned, and yet there was always latent talent bubbling just under the surface ....predicated on a very good footy IQ
So the question with some is ...how long do you wait, b4 giving up

Half agree with this. Part of job is the identification of players though. Your right some players you have to back in and give time.
I would never have even recruited Davis, I never once thought he would be a decent AFL player
On the flipside Himmleberg could be a good average AFL player still in my mind. The type of player makes a didference. I think there would be a thought that Himmleberg still has as much chance of making it as any pllayer outside the AFL so may as well stick with him.
