Hang on .. I can't keep up .. I thought we were getting Hayward in a 3 way with Melbourne and Sydney🤷‍♂️

I think “the correct” comment concerns the Lisfranc injury and thats why they are prepared to let him go in while in contract.

McAdam Grundy Hayward 3 way trade

Yeah, personally not seeing it

We've got 4 players (including Doedee) with long term injuries

We've spent the last 4 years trying to get McPherson fit enough to play .. and just let him go

And again, I'm sorry, but I'm just not seeing it

Surely there are better options out there than adding another player to the LTI list (10%) than chasing Petty now

I may well be wrong, it just makes no sense to me

Edit: foot/feet injuries can be tricky. We've also had Butts out for .. I don't know .. quite a while

I think it was more about the club (or just a media flog) broadcasting that they expect something decent for McAdam

Will be interesting to see if this happens. Hayward would be a good pick up. In a performing forward line like ours, like McAdam I think he will be able to find space as the defence focuses on the likes of Thilthorpe, Fogarty and Walker.

Provided we can get Hayward cheap enough. a 2nd rounder is probably a fair price. Is about to his prime, played over 100 games. IS around a 30 goal a year forward. Would help Rankine and Rachele.

Doedee and Borlase our only OOC players now.
So if we upgrade Murray and Parnell, we are left with 2 free spots to either draft or trade players in. Not ideal

We are linked to Chol, Hayward and Petty. Plus we have a good first round pick to use and some good early 2nd rounders.

So ideally we need to free up another 2 spots. That let's us bring in 2 experienced players out of the 3 mentioned above, and then bring in 2 kids through the draft.

Some tough calls need to be made still, Borlase needs to be delisted and then added to the rookie list. Parnell may have to go the same way and then potentially Hamill too. Himmelberg leaving will help with this if he does go.

We should reserve high guernsey numbers for our good players.

E.g. not a fan of Murphy in 4.
Or Berry in 3.
Nah .. let them wear whatever they want within reason

I'm no fan, nor buy into the debate the best players should wear single digit numbers

I've never understood why some folk covet a single digit number on a footy jumper

I think the attitude comes from amatuer clubs allocating their best 22-25 players with the numbers 1-25. Then the subsequent grades get the sets of higher numbers mixed with the old guernseys.

I for one wanted to wear my favourite number (12) and I think a favourite number is what most players would want to wear. I would rather bring fame to an obscure number then one already steeping in the history of a superstar.

I remember when playing as kid, if the jumpers did actually have numbers they use to have range from x-small through to x-large

Andd they used to number the jumpers x-small though to larger jumpers with those numbers

So the smallest kids on the team got the single digit numbers

The good old school sets and junior club sets all did that. The number 1 was usually reserved for the extra skinny two years too young player.

watch buddy when we land petty youre the clown

you never even attend matches let alone have any insights
Put the glass pipe down m7

If I'm wrong about about the club chasing Petty this year, I'll own it

When he comes out of contract and becomes the player some seem to think he is already, and the club chase him, different story

Again, it makes absolutely no sense to chase potential in a player with an injury that could curtail his career now, because?

As for the never having insights? Well, at least I'm giving you an insight now

Do you think you have better insights because you paint your face on game day and sit in the cheer squad?

Really brutal. Every year, another lot of 18yos come along to try to take your spot.
Do you have a spreadsheet that overlays this 1 with the players traded in?

Players like Crocker and Gibson .. and probably many others I've already forgotten

Also SSP and MSD picks.

Still not sure why we even drafted Turner.
