Mod notice after Mr Bob did a lot of annoying work in moving days of posts out of here. As we are heading into offseason, this thread is for 2023 list management only. Getting upset on previous trades can be taken to the vent thread. Lets keep this thread on track in the part of the year it's actually relevant

I mean he's kicked more goals than Naughton so far....

And yes I know we are talking about a player who started off as a defender.

If we take both players first season out of it:

Mihocek - 167 goals in 98 games
Naughton - 167 goals in 94 games

They are statistically pretty much the same player - clearly by the end of their careers Naughton will be streets ahead given his age.

Naughton played a year in defense I think


Both players actually drafted as defenders

Agree, after 32 everyone should be on 1 year deals.

Not sure about Fyfe, or Walters. Hopefully they are on minimum salary.

I imagine the compromise for a big pay cut from their previous deals would be the security of a two year contract.

We've only got the two older players, so I think we can wear it.

I have to assume with Sonny that the 2 years has flattened salary considerably, little bit of security for Sonny but favours our cap a lot more

I had Walters spot as one of the few that might be up for grabs shortly (before I get jumped on, he's clearly b22 at the moment but the end after 30 can come very quickly) so 2 years is surprising. As long as he's aware year 2 might see him as much as coach/leader as he is a player, it's fine by me.

Unless Schultz is leaving, not looking good for our Brockman Taylor

As long as it's just them two it should be ok. Don't imagine they're on much money and the leadership would be important. But anymore and we're doing the exact thing wce have been slammed for.

Definitely already was, I'm more thinking end of next year for Sturt, if Sonny has 2 then do we bother extending Sturt for 1?

We have five, including Hamling & Wilson. And Tabs is a couple of months off.
