Sabrina? Nah.talk me out of frederick...........at once please............
This year yea probably just making the finals due to little experience but the list on paper is good enough to beat anyone and there will come a stage where the system is good enough to win it all with such a talented group. We are contending for the 8, a flag would be a bonus this year
A number of what ifs. Ramshaw isn't up to the level and while I like Cincotta, at the next level he is just a break glass general defender
Trialing a guy like Honey off HB, would take time
None of Newman, Plow have the attributes we have lost with Williams and Boyd. Kemp is still developing, Cowan needs development
Targeting Markov isn't conservative and not being a constant in that Tigers side, shouldn't be viewed as not being capable to play a role in our setup
When we lost Boyd and Williams last year, we suffered with run and carry from our defensive 50, Markov helps us maintain the layers that will be added this year

Five players for Carlton to consider as potential Zac Williams replacements
With the SSP deadline incoming, could the Blues consider one of these five names?www.zerohanger.com
Currently not enough of a running player given his likely physical scope and skill set. More intercept focussed, and might struggle with that at senior levels due to lack of physical presence, leap and reach.Gilbey
Kicking penetration and agility are strong issues. Endurance base needs work.Hagan
Has talent also, but not suited for the role. We needed to discard names like Newman and Plowman last year before considering him. Adding on Cowan has made things too difficult presently.Lieu
Really solid option as a defensively-focussed small, but need to consider his game sense and endurance base. Will likely drop away in terms of metres covered as the season progresses.Frederick
Incredible pace and can dispose well at speed, but gets lost at AFL level unless the ball is bottled at one end and his objectives become relatively simple.Markov

Given the way injuries are shaping up, I like the look of this line-up for R1:
FB: Marchbank Young McGovern
HB: Docherty Weitering Saad
C: Acres Cerra O'Brien
HF: C.Durdin C.Curnow Fisher
FF: Silvagni McKay Motlop
R: TDK Cripps Hewett
Int: Martin (fwd), Kemp (mid/def), E.Curnow (mid)
Last bench spot is one of Carroll, Kennedy, Dow, and Cuningham, though I expect Cuningham to miss entirely at this stage. My preference is for Carroll, to flex between wing and half forward, with Dow subbed in through the 3rd quarter alongside a directive for Ed and Cerra to drift outside more as the game opens up.

It's a shame we dropped out of the Ireland recruitment when the last couple got homesick. Tuohy, Carlos and Byrne wasn't a bad strike rate from the lads who got a chance at it. Worth an international rookie spot, as run and carry is what a majority of the Irish boys provide. Not sure if we even have a scout over there anymore though.
F for reading comprehension.Unless either get injured, Newman and Kennedy will 100% be there round 1.
Don't even need to, all of them would be freelance. Just need to pay for some reports. It's a shame we dropped out of the Ireland recruitment when the last couple got homesick. Settle down Jim, stop making out you have anymore insight on who should be in the side, than those in the innersanctum, namely the coaches.F for reading comprehension.
You and those of your ilk will probably be right, but history has shown many, many, many times why it's not a smart decision. It's too safe, and I loathe whoever keeps pushing the logic out that results in these calls.
List management team seem to repeat this one ad nausem, and there's only one bloke who's stuck around for enough of the journey such that he's the likely source.
Feel free not to quote me to state the most ******* obvious thing you could possibly write in response until you have more of an argument to offer. Still yet to hear one from even the most capable of commenters beyond a couple of stat lines that don't account for enough of how either should be playing in modern footy.
If you keep thinking so incrementally and reactively while being in the pack chasing the leaders, there's a really good chance you're not going to be the solution for taking your club to the top.
So, is it a done deal with Markov?I’m in favour of the Markov recruitment like many others on here. The reality is the SPP ends in barely over a week so we’re not going to have much, if any, time to trial players before the cut off. We need a known quantity which can most likely only come from former AFL players or guys in our VFL program at this stage.
While I’m supportive of his recruitment I think we also need to temper expectations about what he could provide, especially early. He’s going to need some time to understand structures and new teammates. Suspect he’ll be more of a break in case of emergency option if further injuries arise in the backline.

Collingwood just filled their last list spot and not with Markov so we don't have to worry about them signing him.

Did you have a plate of barbed wire for lunch? Your "you'd think" efforts today seem nothing short of shit stirring. What's the go with Fogarty? Still seems to be running laps. Will he be ready for the start of the season? Don't recall any update from the club on him ever.
You'd think we would get clarity on whether marchbank and Cunningham are still injured or just being managed in the next few weeks. If they are fit they will need to be involved in main training and match play. If they still aren't over the next month it means they are injured and in massive doubt for round 1.
While markov isn’t the best player going around he does have super pace, has the best mo in the comp(tie with soldo) and has a super hot gf.
I think you should pick him up.

Not sure what you are on about. Seemed a pretty straight forward question and observation. I had pasta for lunch btw. Was great.Did you have a plate of barbed wire for lunch? Your "you'd think" efforts today seem nothing short of s**t stirring.
