Been thinking about Newcombe seeing as the hawks midfield is so weak otherwise. Going at 84% by foot with 25 disposals with 20 minutes remaining.

Any way he could hit 110 average or is that wishful thinking?

Easily our main man but for some reason doesnt seem to get to the 110+ on the regular

Ill sit in the stands and easily think his been our best and then look at his SC score and its 90

For some reason just doesn't seem to get the score you would want. Friday was a perfect example, 27 possies (9 contested), 7 marks, 3 tackles, 7 clearances, 6 clangers, 503 metres gained, only scores 92

We will also lose a lot more games this year then win which goes against him

To pick him at his price you would want him to be a top 8 mid by season end, I just don't think he will (but I hope he is )

The problem with Geelong mids is that they have to be versatile across games, so he will have stinkers where he plays half-forward that will trash his cash gen. At his price you want consistency more than anything, but if Dangerfield, Guthrie, Bowes, Duncan, or Blivcas get rotated from a fringe position into the guts for a game and push Tanner into a bad role for a game, you might miss a leap up to a keeper. Rather Worpel, Hopper, or a premium rookie.

Does anyone know if Jack Steele has intentionally lost weight over the preseason? He looked noticeably trimmer on the weekend. A few years back Cripps lost weight to improve his running capacity and it ended up taking away from his contested game. Mindful of that with Steele given it has traditionally been his strength.
