Excellent pick from the Raiders there. I thought they'd go Gonzalez just cos everyone assumed they would. Wilson is a freak though, you had to take him at 7.

The only thing i remember about Jimmy Clausen is that he lost to Uconn the 2nd last week of the season. went to a bar post game and got punched in the face by a ND fan. showed up to the Stanford game with a black eye.

That could've/should've been a trade down. I don't think anyone else was taking a RB with the next 10 picks, and there's so much talent drifting.

I'm tipping the Eagles have traded up for Carter?

Jimmy Clausen was told by Charlie Wiess head coach of Notre dame not to declare he wasn’t ready needed to stay for his senior year he was so right major bust was so not ready for nfl.

Such a "Falcons under Arthur Smith" thing to do to draft another big skills position player high in the 1st without having a QB

Yep, clueless organisation and I reckon Smith is a garbage coach.

Would the Bears have taken him?

9 for 10 and 2024 4th seems fair enough depends how much I guess the Bears rated Carter (or whoever is selected) vs who they end up picking.

It always feels icky when people just choose to ignore the colossal red flags around players just because they can play.
Its almost like the media have done the PR job for Carter, you would think he has never even had a bad thought let alone act on them.

Same with Sanchez. but they both saw $ now over possible $$$$ later.

From what I've seen and heard of Carter, what happened in January was just tragic stupidity that he immediately matured from. I can be sceptical about "character picks" like this, but he's just such a frightening talent to be able to take at 9.

some teams didnt take him off the boards till the combine.

but that video from the cops right after the accident was the death nail for me. has the makings of a sociopaths. Doesnt mean he cant play.

I've always felt the character stuff has been blown way out of proportion. Until the crash there was never anything but positives said about him. There might have been a couple of small things behind the scenes but nothing to cause all this talk about character issues.
