Just on the Haynes pick 7 salary dump - my info is North have been into Haynes for at least 2/3 months knowing what his contract situation is. I think Brady was playing a pretty good game of poker when asked about it this week. Watch this space as it’s still very much a live option which would in all likelihood secure us a handy player and the trade capital to get pick 1. The only stumbling block is - are GWS still prepared to deal - again I think they may have been telling some white lies when discussing it earlier this week and are certainly open to the move.

You said that Eagles fans want a JHF type offer and then listed that as 2, 3, 15 and F1. That's over double the offer from Adelaide for JHF.

When North got that offer all of the other teams said that they would be crazy to not take it and are being delusional.

Meanwhile, North fans suggest 2, 15 and 18, which is a bigger offer, and Eagles fans call us delusional and request another top 3 pick, as well.

Its more than a little silly and if a trade actually happens then they are setting themselves up for disappointment.

We are in a pretty unique position right now and on the cusp of something massive if we can get that GWS deal done.

If the GWS deal is in the works, I can actually see us ending up with 4 x top 10 picks.

Something like:

15 for Haynes & 7

17, 18, F2 (North) for 8 + F2 (Geelong)



2,3,7,8.

McKercher, Duursma/Watson, O'Sullivan, Caddy.

If they are going to take 5 players in the draft keep 2 3 15 17 & 18.
If they are only taking 4 players bundle up 17 & 18 for geel pick (probably wont satisfy geel because they are d!cks), or
Offer WC 2 & 18 for Reid and wait for them to buckle.

Personally I would keep all our picks and pick Curtain at 3, or get geelongs pick and hopefully nab O'Sullivan or Murphy.

His previous delisting doesn’t mean they won’t get compo. Jordon was delisted in 2020 and just got the Dees end of round 2 compo as a UFA.

Assuming it can't affect our compo at all given we have it...

This is the question I’d like someone to answer. I suspect it won’t affect our compo because his speculative value would be canceled out by Goldy leaving, but I’m not 100% sure. If there was any doubt, you’d think Rawlings would just give the Tigers a token pick, as they would be getting insignificant compo for him as a FA, if they did get anything.

I thought any subsequent bringing in of free agents could affect the initial compo allocation, so I expected a trade for a nothing pick.
