They might want to say that but the alternatives are
A - Reid plus a second rounder in the late 20s
B - demons pick 6 and 11 and miss out on Reid McKercher Dursma Sanders Curtin Watson
C - take North pick 2 or 3 and 18 and get McKercher or Curtin and Collard or Tholstrup
They will bend over and take option C
