Hopefully it doesn’t
Oh come on, improved pressure in our f50 is very high up on all our wishlists.

When it comes to locking the ball in his teams forward half, Spargo's got more runs on the board than anyone currently at Clarko's disposal.

Spargo and Watson aren't mutually exclusive.

Not sure how it would get done though.

Hope fisher doesn't turn out to be another Polec situation.

Doubt it's similar. We're going to pay very little to trade him in bar cap. The terms should be looked at more like the Stephenson deal, he had two years left on his Pies deal so we worked out how long we wanted to extend that and paid the requisite "play for North" tax.

absolutely bang on, in the sense that the Stephenson deal was a Pies salary dump, and Fisher smells to me like a Carlton salary dump after the de Koning deal. If this analogy holds, give nothing in trade capital unless it starts with a 7. That leaves financial arrangements with the player as our only cost, so say $500 for 3 years beginning in 2026 - Fisher is still young enough to be going in his late 20s, and if it doesn't work out the financial cost is not crippling.

If this comes off, my estimation of our list management function goes up quite a bit

It won’t be big money
that's the difference - I suspect Carlton will have to pay part of the difference for 2 years, and our full wages bill doesn't start until 2026. Direct opposite to Polec where we not only paid inflated sums to the player, but paid (port adelaide) a ridiculous trade price. That was such a crippling trade moment

Happy to back in Clarko regarding Tarryn. If anyone can keep him motivated at North it's Clarko. If he thinks Tarryn is a lost cause then get rid now for the best offer. I'm far more comfortable in Clarko, Viney and Brady making that call than the likes of Luff and Noble.

Zac Fisher - I don't have any interest in watching footy outside of North. Hasn't jumped off the page when we've played the Blues. Sounds like we are trying to bring him in to play a specific role though. I'd rather not bring in two mids via trade and two mids via the draft if we can avoid it. If Fisher is going to play half back with Goater and Scott on the wings then I'm ok with it. Role players should be on cheap money though.

It feels like for sure we're in that race. He's a good sort to bring in at this stage of the process. Next year sits about where the Lions were when they started bringing in the Neale types... if we get Henry over then that's potentially the Cameron move.
