Personally I think if we jag Dow, Henry and Jordon for not too much that is a good result. Henry is real X factor, Dow is a first rounder who gets a lot of the ball and I don't know much about Jordon but he looks to be an upgrade on Bytel and he has been 6th rung in a pretty hot midfield at Dees.

Very worried about our ruck division. Don't see Campbell making it and Heath is a couple of years away. To virtually have a season swing on Marshall staying fit is nerve-racking. I hope they can plug that somehow.

Gubby and SOS. Have had 12 months to work on this

If we get Dow, Jordon and Henry.

Lose only Billings, Gresham and maybe Coffield to get the deals done.
  • I can't see Gresham staying if he wants 800K+
  • Billings is of use to other sides and he isn't in our top 22
  • Coffield is of use to other sides and he isn't in our top 22
Then I think we will be ahead, have an improved midfield and be ready for another dig at the finals.

Liam Henry can play... this excites me to have someone like this wanting to come to us

LOl what is distorted?

You banging on about 17/19/21 seasons.

I included 2021 and Billings has played 28 games out of the 68 games we have played in that time.

He has missed practically the last 2 seasons with injuries. IT is absolutely a stretch to call a player who has missed that much football a best 22 player.

And isn't that what has happened? hasn't a new football department come in? New list manager, New coach and coaching staff, new footy Gm and here we are talking about the Saints saying he is on the market and JBs agent pulling one of the biggest advertisement jobs for one of his players on Gettable - whilst openly saying there isn't much interest in Jack Billings this star that you think he is.

If yourself and anyone is holding onto What JB did 5+ years ago, You are distorting your own reality of where he is today. Which is not in St Kilda's Best 22 and on the trade table.
Bookmark it and we’ll see who’s right can’t say fairer than that. Also once again your misrepresenting what I’ve posted, it’s a bad habit and makes it difficult to take you seriously.

I think Stavro is right. Billing’s is not best 22. He’s been serially injured. And even before that his inconsistency was a concern. He’s played some good games, but that was some years ago now. He’s barely a GOP in my opinion. Doesn’t seem like there are clubs knocking the door down to get to him. If we can get anything of value for him I’d take it.

Billings is perception for mine, soon as he stated he saw himself as a forward, that killed him as perception wise meant he couldn't hack being a midfielder. Transpose that against Gresh who floats between the two and club is more bullish on keeping him for right instances. As a forward then, is a Billings better than Owens last year? Better than Pou? Preferred to Higgins or Butler? That's his issue and why he may not be a best 22 anymore.

He look super impressive the way he ran onto the ground

Last week we heard they were keen on Goldstein and people on here lost their minds.

What else is there?

Grundy?
Flynn?
Soldo?

There isnt alot out there and not a heap i would want to get into a bidding war about or pay a heap in picks.

That's why i was a fan of the Goldstein news - seems like he is off to Bomber land now.
Will fit in nicely on their 72 man list.

I can see the Bombers dominating the hitouts if they play Draper, Bryant, Wright and Goldstein in the same team.

Billings would be no great loss and it's value for money with Gresham.

If we let Coffield walk out the door we have rocks in our head IMO.
I’m not done with Billings - nice skills and really had no chance to show what he had this year under RTB given the broken leg and then soft tissue injuries (lack of load after broken leg?). Anyway maybe RTB doesn’t rate him, and to be fair to him probably a new start at another club is what he needs.

Gresham - I‘ve been consistent all season - meh! Not a midfielder, lousy disposal - smart forward on his day. If he wants big money bye bye!

Coff - agree would hate to lose him - lot of upside - hopefully gets a season to show what he can do under RTB and Enright

The Dees have the younger and very talented Bayley Fritsch already who is the same height and plays a similar role.

What the Dees need is a genuine tall key forward. Not another "third tall".

I'd trade Caminiti for Petracca, Oliver, or Viney .

Lycett is one I'd look into being that Port are trying to get 2 new rucks traded in

Getting James jordon will just be another saints c grade pick up. Will go with Logan Austin, dean kent, sam rowe, Johnathon marsh, Ryan Abbott, Shaun mckernan. Doesn’t improve our list one bit
Would clearly improve our list. No star but clearly a better midfield player than most of the backups we currently have.

23 yo - the only issue is how much you pay and how long is the contract.

Look at how shit our delivery is to the goal kicking forwards, we need silk delivering from half forward.

Wouldn’t want to lose Coff, comfortably best 22 when in form and fit. He can seriously play and was on fire at training in 2022 pre season.

He got hugged by No 11 who was wearing a headband....it was in the cards all along just had to read the signs.

I feel like Henry comes in, Coff goes to half back, Sinclair to mid, Dow to mid. Jordon sub. Byrnes is back up at best.

Personally I think Sinclair' skillset makes him ideally suited to HB, and is why he is AA there. He excels in space, and reads the play superbly.

I think he goes ok in bursts in the centre as a mid, but from what I have seen he does not stand out as a mid if left there.

So personally I see him as a weapon at AA, but only so so if he was a fulltime mid.

As to the other HB, well Nasiah now "owns" that.

Maybe Coffield rotates through the backline and wing. What is his tank like?

What do you think we are doing? Aiming to get worse?

We are a young side. We are looking to improve.

the fact is that what is looking likely is that the route to improvement is the Draft for us this year and that's not necessarily going to show immediately.

That's not mediocre. that's a fact of our game

We've been here before and told to be patient because the kids meant that we were young and couldn't be expected anything of. 13 years later we are still waiting.

**** them, time for talking is over and need to start moving forward or hand over to someone who has some more ambition and competence.

Gresham and Billings were Owens and Windhager once. Now we have to get rid of them to get younger to buy time. I'm seeing a pattern.
