Billings is the interesting one. Doubt we would get more then a 3rd rounder for him which seems like a waste after all we have invested. Was really optimistic about JB under RTB but after that interrupted season it’s hard to tell if Ross and co rate him.

Would be happy for the club to back him in again on cheap $$ but very understandable if he wants a fresh start. Surprised there hasn’t been more interest in him tbh, low risk high reward option for a contender.

They may be gone in a few years but at the moment they are essential to the spirit and fabric of our young developing team.

Wood has been a mentor to many and a landlord to some. The kids love him.

Hill is the senior indigenous player on our list and was apparently instrumental in getting Henry to nominate us.

Any thoughts of moving those blokes on should be immediately dismissed as to do so would do more harm than good.

I get that it wouldn't be popular, but I don't know why the thought needs to be dismissed.

Let's say Max Holmes asks to come to us, the Cats ask for our first and one of Wood/Hill. I'm not dismissing the conversation.

Pretty sure Ross regretted not playing Howard against GWS so I can't see us trading him out given we don't really have any KPD depth.

Wouldn't have mattered if we had prime Spud or SOS playing at Full Back in that final, you can't defend well when there is no pressure on the kicker who can deliver pressure-free entries.

No defender can stop that consistently, our Backs had no chance with how our Mids played.

UFA so they can't match so maybe they'll be nice and do us a favour and trade him for Pick 86.

Wouldn't have mattered if we had prime Spud or SOS playing at Full Back in that final, you can't defend well when there is no pressure on the kicker who can deliver pressure-free entries.

It was more overall team balance. Cordy could have been shifted up forward and had more impact then Caminiti did and I think Hogan would have been held better by Howard playing off him and using his height advantage to spoil as opposed to trying to out body him.

If this saved one goal at one end and gained one at the other we are looking at a 12 point game which in the latter stages of the game is a very different mindset.

But this is all "coulda shoulda" hindsight.

Any of Billings, Clark and Gresham would hurt.

Pretty good pick up by the Dogs if that’s the case. Their depth is shit house, JB would be an instant upgrade on a Laith Vandermeer/Anthony Scott etc

Yes it does. There needs to be a net loss of FAs to get compensation.

Just crazy, watch us get embarrassed again and we’ll hear the usual excuses. I’m sorry but there is no reason at all to do that dumb is just plain dumb. I’m sick of con men with big egos who need to be doing something to show how great they are when sometimes the hard but smart thing is to just stick.

We don’t have a great draft hand and we don’t have any meaningful spare capital to trade. Now that’s hard when you have identified the list as lacking but all the smoke and mirrors is just that. If Gresham and Howard won’t get us what we need in return then all the other rubbish trades won’t hide it. They’re just trading away quality depth at worst and a quality player if fit to make some noise. Speaks volumes about those in charge if this happens and tells me all I need to know about where we‘re heading.
