Fmd North have been asking for assistance for like 5 years.

I could be wrong but it seems like every year they ask the AFL to see what they can scrounge
Why you should get assistance for making bad drafting, trading & coaching decisions year on year is beyond me. It’s not like they are a new club entering the competition.

Butler has
As has Hill….I know, I stuffed up..

I was actually trying to be facetious about Jordons premiership experience even though he was a sub who never actually played!

So I was just talking to a fella whose son knows Jack Ginnivan. Apparently he toured the club about a month ago and is now committed to coming across!
Might need to touch base with the trainee receptionist to confirm. ( Is she still a trainee ? ).

I think it's a bit stupid if we don't have a replacement for him myself. Maybe Ethan Phillips will get a run by default. It seems weird list management. I'm starting to get a bit nervous about SOS and his bin chicken list building and trading out players.
Dumpster diving is only a problem if you aren't drafting too. Otherwise its a reasonable way to churn the 25-30th players on the list.
North went only for kids and it's destroyed them.

Cordy was made to look ordinary thanks to the lack of pressure up the ground. It would not have mattered one iota if we had Doug there instead.

And to be fair, the Dogs offered him a deal but at that stage they had Keath and a million other talls in front of him (who would have thought that Bevo would be so pig headed to keep Naughton in the forward line instead of swinging him back).

I'm more than happy for the club to bring in someone like Tomlinson while Van Es develops his game.

If we can add more talent to the midfield, whoever is combined with Wilks & Battle will be under less pressure anyway.
Yes they offered him a deal but he was there for 8 years and constantly in and out of the side. There is an obvious reason for that, he's a depth player.

The dominance of Giants run would have made it tough no doubt, but he was constantly finding himself in the wrong position.

I think if he's backed as our number one full back we are in a bit of strife

Only did the relevant part

The Saints were happy to trade him to North Melbourne when they were in the race for Jordan De Goey to clear cap space, but kept him when the Pies free agent re-signed.
But after a solid season dodging the major injury issues that have plagued his career negotiations are continuing for a new deal.
He has been on excellent money as a top-10 draft pick finishing his sixth season, but a new deal will allow him to continue his resurgence after a career-high 19 games this year.
St Kilda delisted Jack Bytel, Leo Connolly, Jack Peris and Oscar Adams during the week, with Jack Billings contracted but having only modest interest from rivals.
If he did leave it would likely be for a very late pick given his $1 million of salary due in the next two years, unless the Saints picked up some of that tab.

I'm not Mowman... but I do have access.. here is the St Kilda part

Hunter Clark is moving towards a new deal at St Kilda despite last year’s aborted trade.

My Christmas wish:

North take Pick 12, Hunter and Howard for pick 3?

Am I dreaming......

The funny thing is I don't think that first round is that exciting outside Reid. Probably gets us McKercher who looks a very likely good mid but perhaps a little unexciting. That's a lot of capital for a good but not incredible player. Howard was a first round upgrade and the rest, Clark pick 6 and then our 2023 pick 12. If he ends up being another Clark it would set us backwards. They will have to be careful with their gambles. This is exactly the kind of trade that sets you back years if you get it wrong.

That said McKercher is probably similar to Sam Walsh as a sort of set and forget type. Looks likely but it's massive risk. I still like Wilson who could even potentially fall at 12 anyway.

Think you're reading a bit much into nothing.

Yeah, to me that's saying he's in a good place after getting thrown away last year. Probably a low point of his life being delisted and he's saying thanks for the lifeline and the year has been great. Can't see him saying anything to suggest that he's leaving.

Hunter Clark closing in on a new deal with St Kilda and Billings unlikely to move.

Its like looking out the window at some homeless guy who is going along the street taking things out of the bins. He gets to ours, lifts the lid , makes a face , drops the lid and moves on.

I know this is probably bullshit but I'd take him in a second. He's got some Hayden Ballantyne / Stephen Milne ability to get under the skin of the opposition.
