That's quite the spud trade route. Any others?

Daniel Cross? He was a free agent and a good player for us, so it would be cruel to include him in the list.

Lobb always seems to sign front-ended deals and then dip on the club once the high earning years are over. He then moves club on a new front-ended deal to pump his paycheque to well in excess of what a player of his calibre should be earning. Total mercenary, and I admire him for it. Get the bread!

Stephen Powell kicked more goals in the prelim and GF than Oliver has in 7 of his 9 seasons and those 2 games were still only 5 less than Oliver's best ever season

Powell > Oliver
You dont have to convince me

Does giving them Peter Rohde as a coach count?

Lobb has a front loaded deal. He is cheap depth at a position that every team would love. He is cheaper & better than any replacement player we could get from elsewhere.

I expect an earlier second rounder minimum, otherwise I hope the dogs keep him. No point moving him on!!!!

Let the Saints pay up, you guys should be looking elsewhere.
Early second rounder?

Oh we are. Im trying to think of someone famous from like the 70s like Peter Moore but I cant think of anyone

Kevin Templeton! Long before my time, but he was a star at the Dogs before moving to us when he was past his best for a better paycheque.

James Cook also

Anyone know what his deal was? I remember him moving to us, kicking 6 goals on debut and then disappearing off the face of the Earth. Was it injury? Laziness? Or was he just shit and the 6 goals were a fluke?

Cook did his ankle the following week against Sydney and then missed about 8 weeks.

Think he played 1 Sandy game when he came back from injury then lost the drive and passion for the game so by mutual decision between Cook and the Club he got delisted mid year.

I do remember him coming in and kicking some goals. Had a google. Apparently we got him via pre season draft. But only played 3 games due to an ankle injury.

I seem to remember a story in the papers about how Cook was a really highly rated under 18 and drafted by Carlton but he really wanted to play for Melbourne, threatened them not to take him coz he wouldnt play for them.

Rate him as a pure ruck but won't solve our forward options.

Have we ever considered pushing Max forward to solve our forward woes and recruiting another full time to play majority ruck but less well than Max does. Seems like a good plan we should explore
