Most likely two in QLD as we didn’t go there at all this past season. Knowing the AFL we’ll probably play the Giants in Broken Hill or something.

No games for us in Darwin or Alice Springs, thank fk.
Disappointing for the town that Melbourne are there again. Son (who lives in Alice Springs avthe moment) was talking to one of the organisers, they were looking forward to Melbourne coming up and giving the town a lift after all the bad news coverage it received. Crowd looking forward to seeing them. Instead they went straight to the airport and flew out, no time for the locals at all. Flew in and out without any interaction.

Doing their best to cement their reputation as first class flogs.

Not that they have to work hard at that.

Probably because they lost that game against GWS and decided to leave asap.
They could still have got their a day earlier and organised some fan interaction. The Bulldogs when we played at Darwin every year, put a lot of community work into the week prior. Pity we don’t play there anymore.

I mentioned elsewhere, that in the GWS game, they had a VIP area roped off for any Melbourne supporter who wanted a cheese board and glass of wine, needless to say it was poorly attended, I mean this is Alice Springs, read the room Melbourne.

The Age saying we’ll play Melbourne at the G on Saturday night, round 1.

They’re also quoting this:

“The Western Bulldogs expect to land a couple of home games at Marvel Stadium against big drawing Victorian clubs Collingwood, Carlton or Essendon, with Carlton now playing in the Good Friday clash against North Melbourne.”

So three years in a row playing Melbourne at the G in round 1?

It feels like forever since we had a home round 1. Meanwhile other teams get it yearly.

The only time we have had a home game in round 1 since 2010 against a Vic side was against Collingwood...in 2020...when there was a zero crowd due to Covid. The AFL systemically discriminates against us in the distribution of home games for financial returns.

ABC TV just reported rounds 1-14 will have Thursday night games (ugh), and weekend of 7th March will precede round 1 with 4 games in Sydney and 4 in Brisbane!
