Oooffff that hasn’t worked out for the Pies either then.Pretty sure Ginnivan wanted to leave because he could see Schultz was going to take his position.

Mitch is a very smart operator.Correct.

Would be an incredible pickup in the future. Though I’m really high on Mac Andrew.Surely we could entice Oscar Allen to come to a good team.
Most just wanted to get more gametime and be in a better environment to thrive
D'Ambrosio: Wanted more game-time than Dons could give (8 games in '22 and '23 seasons)
Chol: Club suggests he look elsewhere for more opportunities (8 games in '23 seasons)
Ginni: Wanted a better culture than what Pies offered
Gunna: Didn't like the game style Brisbane played
Can add Sam Mitchell working with Nick Watson one on one to help him with his goal kicking. We just shouldn't trade with Hawthorn at all at the moment. Every player to go to Hawthorn this year from another club has gone from being an ordinary player to a good player or better. While every player to leave Hawthorn has gone from a decent/good player to a bloody ordinary one.
Sam Mitchell is already the Craig Bellamy of the AFL.
Joe sure is a strange cat, lives down Byron Bay way and drive the 2 hours to training. He is so secretive, well maybe reclusive, he is never going back to a city and sure is not going back to Melbourne. Remember he came up here the covid year and when the season was over went camping out western Qld somewhere. when the deal was done with the Lions he apparently didn't even go back to Melbourne someone had to pack his flat up for him. He missed that final with the birth of his first child, cant remember which player said it but they joked most of his team mates didn't even know he had a girlfriend he is that private. You never see him in any social media stuff from the boys end of season, he just goes back to his farm. If he has a son, it's a very big IF I'd suggest they even play football and if they did it would likely be in the Suns academy so hopefully he does qualify for Father/Son for us.Less than Cooper.
Other than the name I think by the end of his career Joe will be seen more as a Lion than a Bomber, and I'm reasonably comfortable that he'll stay up north out of the spotlight - he seems very comfortable in himself these days.
The big issue might be the Swans academy...

yep your correct, they have a unit he can use.I think he has somewhere to stay in Brisbane if he doesn't want to drive back.
We have a stacked midfield with 3 highly rated mids coming in over the next 2 drafts ie. L.Ashcroft, Marshall and Annable so he is highly unlikely to crack a senior mid position with us.whats the latest on tunstill? is he off to the west or will he stay? think he's a quality player would love to see him get regular first team footy

Out of Contract end of next year, if he expressed the desire to move on the Lions would facilitate it IMO. He would be worth very little in trade value.. 50+ selection.
And list spots. All the points we can get help though.
I really like Dev but the planets have just not aligned for him at the Lions. His wrist injury impacting the beginning of this season could not have come at a worse time for him.So I'm assuming Dev will go back to WA, Tunstill might as well.
This is a bit of a left field idea, and I don't expect most people to agree. If the following are all true:
Then, could we be better off sending Hipwood to defence full-time and signing a player who is a very accurate kick for goal? I'm aware Gardiner will return and be able to cover for Payne, but I don't know if he's a premiership quality KPD, especially coming back from an ACL. And we really, really need someone who won't miss easy goals from 20m out, directly in front. It's killing us.
- We can't count on Payne to stay fit
- Finding another good mature KPD is difficult
- Our biggest hindrance right now is poor goalkicking
As to who is a very accurate kick, there have already been whispers that we're into Darcy Fogarty (OOC 2025), who has kicked 41.16 this year. A cheaper option would be Tim Membrey (UFA 2024), who has kicked 28.9 this season. Or if we're willing to take a flier on someone in the VFL (should the list spots be available), Liam McMahon from Carlton's VFL team is 198cm, 22 years old and has kicked 43.13 this season (including 7.0 against Geelong last week).
For comparison, Joe has kicked 49.42, Charlie 34.25, Hipwood 29.19, Rayner 25.17 and Kai 24.23 so far this year.

The loss of McCarthy is is killing us. Always confident that he could nail the easy ones.
All the points we can get help though.

Forgot which thread I was on. Thought you were appreciating all the behind points helping us win games![]()
It has to be Kane Cornes or Tom Morris surely.Petracca possibly to request a trade to Carlton, Collingwood or Brisbane someone 'close to him' reported on SEN this morning..
I would hate to see him at either Collingwood or Carlton. But I don't see how we could get him here.Petracca possibly to request a trade to Carlton, Collingwood or Brisbane someone 'close to him' reported on SEN this morning..
Always been keen on John Noble. Good get by the Suns
