Personally, I agree with Fish that Joe's salary would be better off being spent towards getting a couple of heavily front ended deals done for Berry and McCluggage and hmm say Raynor and leave the chase for another forward for the year after. Get all our ducks in a row so to speak.

If the mythical Joe replacement he talked about isn’t Lewis and is possibly coming next year then absolutely. Give a couple players $300-400k on their contract earlier and free up that space to use in the future.

Must admit with some of the names being
thrown up, I just get Jordan Lisleand Josh Walker vibes about them all but perhaps that’s what we’re after in the short term but I’d rather make do with what we’ve got than bring in another Brandon Ryan.PLAYERCARDSTARTJordan Lisle

And sign Lohmann who is out of contract end of next year.Yep, lock the rest of the list away who are crucial to take the team forward. I'd re-sign Rayner and Morris, add a couple of years to Wilmot, Coleman. Bring payments forward for any of Neale, McCluggage and Berry.
Not even close. Future third round pick, or at best a third round pick this year. For the both as a package deal.I agree that would be the best we could offer and I think Dev, Prior would probably play every game for the tigers. But why would they trade Lynch for them?
How much do you think they are worth, Briz? A second round pick? Jason is out of contract and if Dev wants opportunity, we wouldn’t stand in his way.
We didn't build our list that way either. As far as I can remember, the imported stars all expressed an interest to come here ala Neale or were on open market ready to switch so we pitched to them along with other clubs ala Daniher or McKenna. We didn't do a bashing the door down to get a star out of their current club - it sets a poor precedent with other clubs long term.I don't think it's good for footy for us to be cannibalizing the Suns. Certainly not good for Qld footy. We all quite rightly have Richmond a spray for doing the exact same thing a few years ago. Imagine doing this and creating a precedent that emboldens them to whiteant our stars from under us at some point
We also appear to have a reputation as a mature and fair club to deal with over trades. Worth keeping for the long term.As long as we’re competing and a well run organisation players will want to move to us. There will be more players that want to escape the limelight of Melbourne a bit like big Joe did.
I'm listening to trade radio today at work, hoping the mitch lewis thing is mentioned. Wish me luck boys
Aside from Gettable at 12pm, the excerpts they post on Twitter is much better than listening to itTuned in last week and at least half the time was commercials, another quarter on fluff and then the other quarter on ridiculous scenarios. Think I’ll wait for the days summary rather than listen to that dribble.

"Don't expect that to be a big name" is an interesting tease. Most of the names people have thrown up for us to get this trade period have been massive names - i.e. Tom Lynch
He torpedoed my hopes of us getting McDonald-Tipungwuti out of retirement. Not expecting a big name like Daniher (7 letters), Darcy or Allen (5 letters) is big enough. Even Ben King
