It makes it much harder for the bottom sides to improve when the best kid goes to the premier.

It’s just fortunate for them they have had the Ashcroft brothers come through when they’re a good team. The F/S system is the same for everyone and every club would be doing the same thing in the same position.

They’re also giving up pick 20, so it’s not like they’re getting him for free. In the past clubs got F/S players with a 3rd rounder.

As Nutjob points out, this is a father-son rather than academy so let's not get too hysterical. But certainly, the bundling of junk picks is on the nose. They should at least have to match from within the same round or within 18 picks of the bid.

I'm not being hysterical. I just don't get the discount part when first access is already a benefit.

I think Port wanting Pick 2 and F2 is ridiculous (if that rumour is true).

Something like 2 + 25 for Houston + F1 is more reasonable.

In saying that North would want to remain in the first round this so would probably need to get a decent first rounder back somehow.

When you go on other clubs boards and present heavily lopsided trades (against the club who's board you're posting on) it's definitely time to go back to your own board.
