Meanwhile LDU (heading into his prime) is walking out the back door..
Would also love to know if we have approached Joe Richards at all
You keep only hearing port an interstate club being interested

Look who they bring in around that time too. Luke Hodge and Charlie Cameron (pick 12) in 17/18, but lose Rockliff to FA. The next year they bring in Lachie Neale for a bunch of picks including pick 6.Fagan started in 2017 but you have to remember there was 3 years of garbage before his arrival. There were 2 maybe from that 2015 list that played on Saturday. Extrapolate that out to us and our next Flag list will look nothing like who starts in Rd 1 2025, unless there is a miraculous turn around which is what we all hope for

Go back to top repeat
Lol nah, he's being massively underrated. He's a top 3 general defender in the league and has an absolute wand of a right peg. We should be doing everything possible to get himFor real?
The overrating of Dan Houston on here jfc![]()
He hasn’t had the year he would have wanted but I think draft watchers say he’s been the best defender coming through for his age group for a long time. Runs, can kick and is good defensively. Can go forward too. From the calibre of big mids and silky mids we’ve seen this year, it will probably come back to bite me, but why should we miss out on that for long time north fan, an undersized key defender?
Could probably understand your statement if he was 18-23 years old but he is 27 turning 28 in the middle of next year, probably about the time most people start getting serious - and yes I get he signed the contract at Port but maybe he met her since, I’m not sure.“Houston’s motivation for moving to a Melbourne-based club is largely motivated by a Melbourne-based girlfriend”
Sounds weak.
We have a terribly history of being in overhyped experienced players who don’t contribute. Better bet a top 5 pick so we can “win faster”.“We’ve been s*it for so long, let’s take a massive risk based on a whole lot of hope. That should work…”
So they're furious that Carlton haven't offered up their #11, but by all reports we've apparently offered up our future 1st?
Why would PA be furious with Carlton for not offering up their #11 when they have a guaranteed 2025 top 5 pick on the tab-- oh.

I think I agree... I think he might just be the best non key defender in the game. For 5 years with us, what is that actually worth? Probably pick 5. Port would be looking it from the angle of all the failed picks around pick 5 - paddy down, Elijah tsatsis.... Dylan Stephens... where we look at the bontempellis and sheezels around that pick. This one ain't a clear cut one. Plus throw in with Houston/Parker then LDU probably signs. Then we don't get a FA pick so go hard as nails at Balta- who sees parkr/ldu/Houston plus our young guns and goes... far out that might be a premiership team.Lol nah, he's being massively underrated. No one in their peak years would be silly enough to come to us.
They don’t want to be in next years draft.
I imagine the list of teams willing to trade out of the first round of this years draft is very small.Yeah sure fine. I don't doubt that, but there's nothing saying they have to hold our F1 if they get it for Houston.
I would imagine there's no shortage of suitors that want our 2025 R1. Why wouldn't Port take it and then try to flip it for another two picks in this year's draft? Cowards.
Until we start being much more competitive, unfortunately, that’s the case you would imagine. No one in their peak years would be silly enough to come to us.
We’re attractive to washed up end of career footballers.
Then I very much hope Dan Houston enjoys playing for Carlton next year.I imagine the list of teams willing to trade out of the first round of this years draft is very small.
