My heart is set on Grlj and one of Greeves or Onley. Grlj looks adept for the chao hokball style and the other will provide another big body which we seem to be short of

I believe Greeve can make the step up - all the saying he is a man child bully kids at junior level. This may be the case but with the incremental development his physique and skills will be further enhanced (can see skill wise already quite a good player)
I'm massive on Grlj. Perfect for us.

He's actually the worst. Apparently Essendon 'have done work' on every one.
Fairly easy to ask all the kids what their pain tolerance is to injecting.

Followed by a multiple choice question What is a peptide?
A. Perfect condition for surf
B. The Manchester City coach
C. A failed operation that landed a Brownlow medal around the neck of a current coach!

If Grlj isn’t available, I think we should look at trading back with GWS so we can pick up NHH with their first pick and take their pick 35 to pick a more inside midfielder. Noah reminds me of a lower production Mccluggage, biggest ceiling in that 12-25 range. Use pick 22 on a 3rd tall forward or half back that has slid

Whichever way it goes I think we'll get a great kid that we'll be happy with. Irrespective of who I like at 10 (Farrow/Grlj) I trust the club as they know far better than I do what some players might be capable of/who the club needs.

As for trading back, we wont be doing that. We've already got 3-4 players earmarked at 10 so at least one of them will be available.

The only interest will be if we use 22, and on who!, or if we're successful in using it and a F1 to trade down. We've put it out there, depends if anyone bites.

Edit: Please don't ask about who we're keen on at 10. They've all been covered ad nauseum in the previous pages.

I don't know about that.

I think it more likely that there are 30 or more players with some AFL traits, but very few elite plsyers.

It is one of those drafts where you might get very similar output out of a player chosen at 10, and one chosen at 25.

This suits us somewhat...
how would it suit us? unless we are looking to trade out pick 10 for two in picks in 20s.

You obviously do not think, unlike someone else here, that pick 10 is equivalent to 25. I take it F1 is better than this year's first round, or that is the projection anyway, along with using it to trade ready made player next year. Someone said draft next year is better.

Errr..cos we dont have anything near a top 3 pick, but we have 2 in the first 25?

exactly, been looking on AFL to see if he released his phantom. Only his rankings.

ESPN has released theirs too, top 50

NHH, Dovaston, Schubert, Lindsay, Farrow all at 11-16. If any of them get picked by pick 8, only then will the likes of Grlj/Cumming/Sharp will slide

Tigers are not trading 3 or even 4 for the excessive 10+22+F1( which was our Zerret offer), so my dreams of 10+22 won't happen. So much for claims of "not great draft" & next years F1 having greater value.

At pick 22, we may have likes of Marsh-Oskar-Jevan-Barker-Pickett who are all rated from 17-28

Would like to see us get a 3rd pick and still hoping atleast GWS feels desperate to jump us and offer their 12+35 for our 10 if they have eye on Dovaston who I have not been as taken in by. Watched him in BoxHill game and he stood out, missed a lot of goals but think will be around avg at AFL level.

Prefer Pickett for Small fwd role or even Kickett with a late pick who is same height as Wiz.

getting another pick in 30s will be great.

I am bias toward kids who went to public school. In everything in life. I could never be someone in charge of hiring people. Xav, SKEVS, Carey.... sorry, you're not being hired.
As someone who went to a public school but had a lot of private school friends, and who now works in a public school, I can safely say that in life I have the same sentiment as this but dialed up 1000%

I haven't been as interested in the draft this year as I usually am, but if we can get a good public school kid and help him become something I'd be stoked.

Does nobody help these kids?

Look at Aiden Schubert's draft board which the kid had to hold up in front of selectors.

He can't spell his club or position.

Surely someone has the kids back and goes 'hey mate, let me help you with your spelling'...instead he puts this up.

Clubs now have to wonder about his attention to detail, or if he will understand 'class-room' coaching sessions - it raises a red flag.

Really poor look I thought, and one that will affect his drafting.

The AFL needs to do better preparing these kids for the 'big dance'

Dusty quit school at 15 to focus on footy. I think you’re putting too much weight on this…

Don't be so stric on the kid!

I went to both. We went without when i went to private school because mum thought it important. My sister didn't go, we couldn't afford it.

Aside from the top end schools where there are a lot more silver spoons, I don't think there is much in it really.

My sister and I have turned out much the same

Not like the UK where the gap between 'public' (posh) schools and state schools is more stark.

As for footy, give me the kids with a comprehensive development program any day.

everyone know about sullivan robey, no one knew about weddle, stratton sicily, worpel, you can use that same logic and say for example pick 38, 50 are stars, if you could look back after few years and say we should not have moved up, but down, we should have moved down, got two good players, instead of player that we picked. I never hear of people talking about splitting picks and moving down to get great players.

Mate I can’t even read…what’s it say?

The draft boards on bf + YouTube mocks seem to put a helluva lot of time and work into most clubs but they are God awful or outright flippantly disrespectful to what hawks would/should do. Apparently we just gonna flick pick ten plus 22 for FF from anyone as long as we get ****ed in the bunghole!! There's one on the draft board taht thinks hawks will just easily give up 10+22 for 20+ FF from cats !! So that cats can get Marsh. Yea right , pull the other leg. There's also very lazily ones who just connect Greeves at ten ..... Just because...that's it, that's their explanation.
And I hope to God we go nowhere near Oscar Taylor! No different to Seamus.

Don’t know about you - but I love leftovers !
reading between the lines, Cal seems to think we are most into cummings for first pick and greeves for our second. others that come into consideration are sharp, farrow, lindsay, barker, thredgold (not sure if anyone here knew we had interest in tall defender).

I would love Grij especially with the last touch out of bounds rule where Kicking and pace/endurance are going to be even more important and we are going to have less stoppages. Would love two of the following

Grij
Cumming
Lindsay
Barker
Phillipou
Hibbins-Hargreaves
Pickett
they all look like quality
