Wonder if we are into pertracca

**** the crows and suns , only makes them stronger and we could do with him
I am kind of surprised that he is being talked down generally in media.

Tom Morris, who is a Melbourne supporter, said he thinks he is only worth one first round pick. Um, hello ... we got one of those Melbourne can have. A top 10 one.

Yet players like Merrett and Curnow are worth multiple first round picks and multiple players ... and their clubs should still probably say no according to most of the media.

Pre-injury, Petracca was close to the best player in the league and I think he is still probably the best player of the three. I'd be all over him if all he is going to cost is our first pick this year.

Very high correlation with performance up pre contract signing then performance down post signing. It’s a real Doozy that one.

I like short contracts.

Curnows management wouldn't be reaching out to players like Papley if he wasn't a chance of coming here or he wasn't open to the possibility of it

He just wants out of Carlton, Geelong are the preferred option but they don't have the collateral to trade for both hom and Marshall.

If he is steadfast in getting to Geelong only he will nominate them a deal wont be reached but he will get to them 12 months later like Tim Kelly.

I take the point some are making about big KPFs not winning grannies, but the thing that made me a believer in Curnow is watching the way our mids improved when Amartey was up and about and leading to the footy.

All of a sudden they had a target in space, and the likes of Heeney could leverage their beautiful delivery.

If we were guaranteed 22 games of that Amartey next season, along with Logan roaming at high half, then we'd be a different side.

Not only would Curnow provide that target, but he'd open up space for the mids to kick bags like they did last year.

I spoke to someone ITK about the Charlie situation.

100% wants to leave Carlton.

100% wants to get to Geelong. That’s where his heart is. Sydney / GC are a distant second.

I left thinking it’s Geelong or bust.

Not sure we want him if his heart’s not 100% in it.
There's a shocker

Further to that...
Having targets out of defense or entering forward 50 might not result in kpf getting the goals, eg the grand finals.
But if you don't have them and get outsmarked around the ground and up fwd you have little chance.
No doubt Curnow would improve us but as most are saying the price will be too high compared to what other needs we get with the picks and trade outs.
We definitely need another ready to go mid...small forward and intercept defender or 3rd tall defender at least.
That's why juh is attractive as he is younger and cheap.

Is Lloyd a "big Sydney Swan"?
James Rowbottom to the Suns is the most likely candidate. We'll just get a dud pick for him too

The league is ****ing corrupt how the stronger teams keep getting stronger without having much trading power. We really are owed an apology for the trade banning. It's a farce now

The point that has been made is that it is not just about bringing in a key forward if your midfield and defense is underdone and I agree. Looking at Brisbane yesterday their forwards were quiet but their mid field and defense slaughtered the Cats.
A reliable small medium sized forward would be good.

Watching Lohman and Cameron combine for 6 while we are lucky to see Papley and Hayward 6 times in a granny
Lohman and Cameron standup on the big stage whereas Papley and Hayward can play but go missing too often. Therein lies our problem- we have a few players on the list that should in their prime but still question marks. I think it is a player development issue and if we look at Brisbane as an example they have delivered in spades on that front.
