Once again Jim... You're not a biomechanist so I'm not sure why you're judging a players technique based off a few highlights where he was in a contested marking situation. Plus, for all we know he did his in a contest/collision just as Jagga did.
It's rare that an ACL is done on the back of a collision in sport - even contact sport - as it would require considerable force applied through a specific area, even if an athlete isn't particularly strong through there. There's usually an element to how they move that wears things down over time, and landing awkwardly with a lot of momentum is the classic way for that risk to increase.

Really don't need a need a degree in the field to understand that, but your skepticism is fair.

Why couldn't we use a gun inside mid? We are devoid of talent across the park. Yes Walsh, Smith, Walker, Cerra, Hollands and Lord looks a great group but they are hardly Cripps or Hewett and only Walsh has shown he can be truly elite at the level. Walker isn't even on our list yet and Jagga hasn't played a game.

The best clubs identify needs and recruit them ready to go. Personally I'd argue it's idiotic to even try and predict what we might need in 3-4 years time (which is the realistic time frame for any kid not named Daicos or Ashcroft to have an impact) when player movement has never been easier. Imagine if we went out and recruited a ready to go forward pocket a few years ago instead of loading up on kids hoping one would stick. We may be in a completely different position.
The way the game is moving, it looks to be easier to find a surplus inside mid relatively cheaply if the need were to arise.

Rather keep building a dynamic and quick group. Besides we have Coop Lord.

I don't rate either TDK or JSOS as top tier....

The former was softer than butter for 80% of this season, directly contributing to many losses.

Jack? who really knows, sidelined more often than not...
It's not the point, though. They would have had currency if it weren't for 'free-agency'. We have to make the most of the compensation, and what we got for Charlie. We need to get an extra quality player either this year or next, and not just a player who fills a hole, IMO.

Ah-Mu is Melbourne academy, pretty sure. Allen looks a player WalshistheGOAT

He’s part of their academy, but they don’t have access to him given his heritage is from the Pacific Islands.

They’ll have access to his younger brother, however, once the eligibility rules change next year.

I’m against drafting Max Kondogiannis purely because I like yelling my frustrations in Greek at the footy - and I’m not ready for the day one of them actually turns around and understands me.

My favourite Greek word below...........

I'm surprised how often I use it.............It's a word for almost every occasion..........

Didn't we? :p

I can't believe how he slipped to us - best player in this weak draft!
Its a good way to look at it, Jagga would be a clear #1 in this years draft even if he had sat out the whole season with a knee injury. We effectively get #1 pick, #8 pick in Dean, #14 pick.. please be Lindsay & Ison at about pick #25... Its not a bad way to start our mini rebuild.

Think it's pretty likely we end up with Dean, Ison and a key forward prospect (fill the Lemmey gap)

Then hold the rookie spot open for train-on's

Trade for points and into the future.

Hit the pre-season to restructure gameplan around a more medium forward line (Hayward, Moir, Kemp) and a running game plan which tries to exploit our Energizer bunnies (Ollie, Walsh, Cottrell, Chesser)

We're into Tobyn Murray from some reports (Cats VFL)

"Another two clubs are eyeing Geelong VFL forward Tobyn Murray. Murray, 20, toured Carlton’s facilities, completed testing and had an interview with the Blues, and is set to meet with Port Adelaide.
