This thread is becoming increasingly popular, and to keep some sort of order, we will have some….

Rules of engagement:

1. Bring valid news or links to Twitter posts from notable sources. Don’t post screenshots or “some bloke just said on SEN” or what some “trade whisperer” has posted on a Facebook page.

2. Ignore what other team boards are putting up as trade offers. Don’t quote or bring them here either.

3. Don’t post “buckle up” for the lols.

4. If you can’t say anything nice about Worpel or CJ, don’t say anything at all. The continued slaps and backhanders are just going to be deleted.

It would be nice to sell the farm for an elite player in the prime for once. I think if available, assuming Butters isn't coming, we simply have to pay Reid what he wants (if he wants to become a Hawk).

The issue for Reid- although signed for ‘26 will be the ongoing drama next year.
His management will want to put this to bed either way soon. Either commit/extend or notify the Weagles he intends on leaving after ‘26 season.

I like the lions.. but you look at their recent fortune (as in most are or will be guns) of academies drafting & father sons...

it's a massive leg up
Agreed mate. Draft picks 1,2, 3 (Rayner, Ashcroft, McCluggage) torched us in the middle last night and was ultimately the difference.

We'd be a vastly superior side with that sort of cream

Could we keep Worpel but trade out his attempted fend offs?
I wouldn’t even be offering him a contract, I don’t wanna go into next year with Worpel/Nash in our midfield again. Would be insanity doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result.

Agree. They get exposed against the better sides and will continue to do so during finals.
19 and 20 year old Ashcrofts and Fletcher's taught them a lesson last night. Embarrassing.

Worps peaked a while ago and unfortunately there’s no improvement with him left and is now declining if anything- we need to replace him with a skilled player…

Mackenzie could be that guy- he just needs to learn how to crack in and defend - he’s got the traits of Sam Mitchell but lacks the physicality - Sam always loved the tough stuff

Yep. If only we had a Father-son of a 4-time-premiership-winning hall-of-famer coming through in the next couple of years. Oh well.

Anyway, how good are those northern academies?

worpel is currently one of starting mids. He is certainly not playing how we want and expect him to play, however, no one in the twos is currently pushing him out. No guarantee they will next year either as Worps is as much a chance to get back in form as others are of getting better.

I would only trade or let him go if we can get an obvious upgrade, but if we can't, our mid depth will be dire once more.

There is a lot of disrespect on here for a hawks B&F winner.

Half Backs with genuine foot speed don't grow on trees - CJ (2nd Round)
Highly drafted young Mids with elite skills, who already done their apprenticeship are sought by rebuilding clubs - Cam Mackenzie (1st Round)
Key Forwards that provide a genuine contest are always highly sort - Lewis (2nd Round)
Versatile key backs are one of the most valuable commodities in the league - Scrim (1st round)

I'd say these are our most likely options for inclusion in trades for value draft picks or high value trade targets.

I think teams will be asking the question about Max Gawn's availability. He's could seriously move the needle for a contender. Thoughts on fit for the Hawks?

Worpel & Nash - Stars of our comedy midfield TV series. Worpel thinks the ball is a hot potato whenever he goes to grab it and Nash kicks it like its hot potato. Then bit part actor Connor McDonald role is to run around like a headless chook. Top gongs at The Razzies.

I feel like CMac has had a charmed run.

Makes some bloody crazy decisions at times as it looks to me like he is avoiding body contact at all costs.

HFF is dead man’s corner. Need to add another string and get himself fitter and stronger to play some midfield minutes like Moore has.

Cut off the rats tail and hit the gym for a massive pre season for CMac.

Totally agree, how many times times can he be seemingly about to collect a ground ball and struggle to keep composure only to lose the contest?

I hope as a club we have identified this. He seems to be always flashing into the contest ok, and either lifts his head too quickly and fumble or when he takes possession just coughs it up due to the body contact he needs to absorb.

Someone needs to show him a tape of Ginnivan. Keeps his head over the ball and takes the contact when needed and then distributes while being tackled or bumped.

In fairness 2 out of those 3 are premiership players, one of which is the reigning NS medallist.
