This thread is becoming increasingly popular, and to keep some sort of order, we will have some….

Rules of engagement:

1. Bring valid news or links to Twitter posts from notable sources. Don’t post screenshots or “some bloke just said on SEN” or what some “trade whisperer” has posted on a Facebook page.

2. Ignore what other team boards are putting up as trade offers. Don’t quote or bring them here either.

3. Don’t post “buckle up” for the lols.

4. If you can’t say anything nice about Worpel or CJ, don’t say anything at all. The continued slaps and backhanders are just going to be deleted.

That’s the most likely result band 3 is a second round pick after your natural pick which as of now based on 2025 would be pick 34.
not worth letting him go for that. Much more value to us unless we get something we can use...eg at least end first round.

We can match

I would say I'm saying this at risk of sounding like an idiot, but I think I did that when I tried to compare Worps and Trac. Anyways, a fit Jaidyn Stephenson would fit so well into this current team. Only 26, talking to other clubs. He looked average at North but he had one or two spectacular games. If he can be motivated again, he would fit this team so well, would also back us in to get the best out of him more than a Hollands.
Hello Mr Stephenson

Exactly, which will be the same situation next year when Lewis is a FA or is he RFA( should be in top 25% salary). The disrespect here in valuing Lewis for trade is astounding. Are there lots of KPFs available for trade? This is not a guy over the hill or has not showed his ability before. If he was top of his game and at his age, he should be worth 3 1st rounders(which would be Nick Larkey's value). Since he is NOT due to injury issues( and that can change tomorrow), one 1st rounder makes sense & a straight swap for Trac. That is how I would approach any discussion with interested clubs.

If Dees are the only ones interested, makes his value lower, if other clubs jump in, value only rises. Lots of water to flow under this bridge.

So if we are going to target FA next yr, then trading Lewis this yr is best option unless he is RFA and we can force a trade next yr, in that case we can hold him.

İf we had landed Oscar Allen as a FA then using Lewis as collateral for a gun mid would've been easier. As it stands, he's too valuable going frwd for us.

I know we chased max king pretty hard I wonder if we have asked the question again

We seem to have a lot of talls changing and with Gunston having a late career resurgence but a drop that must be planned for and dear and McCabe in the wings we seem like we would want another big forward.

Maybe not for the next year but something seems like we are chasing someone

He pulled out or they did, I reckon he did and they're framing it like they chose it!

GONSKI like theres no tomorrow bhahahahaha
Guy I work with is flying to Melb tomorrow for a Charity Event he is managing and his main role is to chaperone the main star who happens to be no other than Zach Marrett have already given him a list of questions 🤣🤣

My first thought was, that he might be worth picking up, as the water boy. But then I thought, he'd probably squib our players and they'd go thirsty.

surprised, Gabelich is usually one of the good ones
Gabelich is following twomey’s lead that’s it’s a 4yr deal.

I’ve heard it’s 5yrs being offered. It’s a key difference.

Who are you talking about?

If it’s just a random caller, why bring it here?

It’s only a win IF we have another target that meet the need. We’ve had two very good finals, but having watched us get smashed by the Lions second-grade midfield we absolutely need more A grade talent through the middle to have a sustained run at the flag. I hope we don’t get the reality check in the PF or the GF but it could come…

Merrett and Petracca together, with a fully fit Day and further development from Ward and Newcombe would turn a glaring weakness into an enormous strength. If it helps us win one or two flags in the next five years I believe it’s worth us paying the price for both of chase Walsh or Butters instead of one.

The absolute worse case scenario is that we don’t pick up one, don’t improve the midfield and peak as a North Melbourne mid 2010’s team. What do we actually gain from walking away aside from winning trade week?
Lions second grade midfield?
Draft picks 1,2,3,5 plus Dunkley
Pick 7,12 don’t get a midfield gig

Still early days. We haven’t had any Trade Whisperer tweets posted yet.

According to Cal apparently Merrett met with Essendon board members today but still remains keen to join the hawks….

Edit. It was Mitch Cleary

What happened to band 2/end of first round then?
It’s all speculation given the calculation is not made transparent and the salary cap is changing a lot. It could still be band 2 which is end of first round I just said based on other compo and the reported offer to Worpel my best guess is band 3.

Speaking of FA compo... Cal Twomey is talking like Essendon are assured of a first round compo for Draper. He infers the only options are Band 1 or 2. Is this likely? Or just Cal being his normal Essendon mouthpiece?
