I'm surprised a few are getting sucked into the Dogs finishing top 4 again. They just don't do it under Beveridge

There are nomally a few shocks that no one sees coming so just throwing a few in

Fremantle
Brisbane
Geelong
Gold Coast
Hawthorn
GWS
Collingwood
St Kilda

Bulldogs
Sydney
Carlton
Adelaide
Essendon
West Coast
Port Adelaide
North Melbourne
Melbourne
Richmond
Pretty content with my prediction from September so far. Only really missed on Fremantle and Adelaide

Change from last year's finalists (early take):

-Port, Carlton out.
-Some or all of Collingwood, St Kilda, Gold Coast, Adelaide in.
-Bulldogs, Geelong and Sydney other sides in danger of falling out. More likely one or two of them rather than all three.

Give it another month and things could completely change, of course. But the last 7 teams I mentioned look to be the early pack of "scrambling for finals" sides.

At his point who knows.

Brisbane look to be thereabouts again. Pies/Geelong are going about it right to mount a challenge later in the year. Both teams would be hopeful. Giants been close in recent years, but have stumbled. I'm not sold on Hawthorn yet, but they have been impressive. Day's injury will hurt them though.

Heaps to be played out yet.

I'm particularly interested in looking at the bottom of the ladder and the teams that are looking likely to be down there. Melbourne are much worse than I expected. I gave them a chance preseason of turning it around. They traded away their first pick this year too.

They are horrible to watch. So spiritless as well. It's absurd given the amount of Premiership players on their list. Goodwin has overseen one of the worst fall from graces I have seen. They won a flag, then went 10-0 to start the next season. Somehow lost all form and went out in straight sets in 22, then a similar tale in 23 in straight sets, except by that time it was apparent the team did not have a functioning forward line/play. They are a rabble of a football club right now. In my opinion they need a circuit breaker, and that is Goodwin. The bloke is done in my opinion. Amazingly too, I would doubt he has much currency in the coaching market, which as a recent Premiership coach is an absolute indictment on his reputation externally, let alone within the club.

West Coast look awful. Definitely a chance at finishing last. It's only a fifth of the way into the season, so plenty can happen yet, but West Coast look rudderless/boring and uninspiring in most games aside from the game away against Brisbane.

Richmond had a surprising win against the Blues, which will come in handy later in the year when we don't want to finish last. I certainly hope we don't.

We'd be hoping to jag a win or two against a few teams on our day. We will miss more often than we hit though.

I'd say I'm more confident than I was preseason that we might not finish last.

I just told you... Other than Freo, no team outside of the 8 will push for finals. If you have a case for any of them make it.

I should add to my original post. North are looking bottom 4 right now, or thereabouts. Thinking it might click a bit for them later in the season and they will win a few (maybe wishful thinking maybe, who knows). They should be showing more than they have in my opinion. Been unspeakably rubbish for at least 5 years.

I look forward to seeing how my insane predictions plan out.

So far in retrospect, I think I should swapped Adelaide and Carlton around lmao

Not too disappointed to be 5-3 so far.

When Hawthorn win tomorrow we'll have played the top 3 sides inside the first two months.
Pies (A)
Lions (A)
Hawks (A)
Saints (A)
Blues (A)
Crows (A)

Dees (H)
Freo (H)

5-3 with some tough teams away from home and half the backline out isn't too bad while doing a mini rebuild.
Lots of KP games to come still.

Not perfect but looking pretty good. Freo the big riser the big let down so far, picked Carlton & Port's drop. Gee should have had the Doggies a touch higher.

Think Hawthorn are about 5 spots too high as well

See what happens :nomouth:
Happy with:
Collingwood and Adelaide entering the 8 as of right now.
Sydney and Port Adelaide both dropping off particularly Sydney I think that was my best prediction so far.

Not Happy with:
Freo 1st hard to see them claiming that from here.
Still possible but Carlton and Melbourne disappointing.
Bulldogs still in that fringe area but Hawks more entrenched as of right now.
Credit to Ross Lyon with what he's gotten thus far
