He’s 20 with barely a dozen games to his name. He has incredible pass, agility, leap and football skills, yet apprently he’s worth nothing whilst still being under contract.

Yet the 24 year old Aleer with 20 odd games to his name great athleticism but zero football skills is worth a big contract and an early second round pick.

Truly st Kilda buy high sell low, they don’t see us coming they phone and invite us.
Lance has good skills but just hasn't got what it takes for senior AFL, so let's move on

Never said anything about Aleer. Genuine first round (Top 18) picks that had shown a lot more than collard get traded for future seconds (Jack Steele says high).

I am not saying you trade him, just that he isn’t worth a whole lot right now. Certainly not sold he is afl quality yet.

Strongly disagree with this - I reckon he’ll make it but I don’t think it’ll be for us.
Small forward is the hardest position on the ground

He would do well to watch tapes of Higgins running and leading patterns.

Collard ball in hand is as skillful as they come and combine that with his pace and agility he can be a weapon.

But at the moment he's rarely getting to the right spots, his craft in actually finding the footy needs work.

Unless he is desperate to come home, I can't see us trading him. And it would be stupid for us to do it now at his lowest value.

Collard is not worth a first round pick, probably worth less than Aleer. Maybe Collard plus our 3rd to West Coast, they give a pick to GWS, Aleer to us.

Collard still hasn't had the gloss worn off. I think Aleer is more likely to be a GOP at best if he's 25 and not dominating even at VFL level. If I was a normal list manager I'd be offering $450 x 3 and a future third round pick.

Collard lead our equal top goal kicker in the VFL last year. Allison the only AFL listed player to match him. Ross Lyon says that he's got potential to replace Hill as a premium runner and he's been given a few games where he's had licence to move away from goal this season.

Probably his potential is as the player we wanted Liam Henry to be. A mobile HF who can move up with the play and also run through the midfield/wing if needed.

Actually, somewhere between about pages 85 and 120 we all went into our personal feelings about the situation in great depth. It was quite touching and a real forum bonding experience.

You should read those pages and get across it, you'll thank me afterwards......

By comparison, Shai Bolton took 5 seasons to play high quality AFL footy.
His first two seasons were poor and that was playing in an extremely good Richmond side, not as a small forward in a disfunctional saints forward setup. Collard has plenty of time to make it yet.

Dylan Moore was delisted by the Hawks after his third year. Milney was older than Collard is now when he made his debut. I remember thinking Kozzie Pickett in his first year was one of the worst players I'd ever seen play a game of AFL football and a complete bust

Not to say Collard will necessarily follow the same trajectory, but he has plenty of time and plenty of tricks. My only query would be on his attitude and drive to become that sort of player - but that is very much from the outside looking in, obviously they saw enough there to give him a three-year extension

Id say its my floor.

Ultimately we have to be reasonable, we can demand whatever we like, we can carry on like pricks and threaten the PSD and all that and all we really do is risk losing face with the AFL and the player managers (which i couldnt really care about) and losing face with NAS (which i do care about).

If its a go home trade for an uncontracted player there has to be a degree of reasonability from the side losing the player, you dont have to like it (ive made it clear i dont) but thats the world we live in.

We wont get fair value for NAS, we have to accept that, what you consider to be something you can live with and something that wont make us look like were being completely pricks to NAS and the footballing world is subjetive.

Bergman and a first (given we were into Bergman) is, IMO at least, something that we will look shitty if we refuse.
Berry and two firsts (or Whitlock and a first i suppose even though i hate it) is getting towards something we look shitty if we refuse.
Three fists is probably the same as the above (although i think its easier to sell three first being shit as theyre more unknown).

If you dont care how we look and how NAS views us then sure, demand Butters and a first, i dont think thats being reasonable personally.
The World could care again.

Send Nas  home to the Crows

Send Curtin home  to the WCE

Send Reid home to the Saints

Home sweet Home

Not that, that mattered to Burgoyne, Cripps, Franklin & Plugger etc.

Personally i feel like this is worse than Bergman and a first but to each their own.

For the very modest fee of a pair of antique silver Persian finger cymbals and a handcrafted black lace veil the prophetess devoted an intense 15 minutes connecting with Nas's future journey.

Relax, breathe easy, he's staying.

You can thank me later.
