So, I can see a world where De Koning doesn't nominate Saints. Then if that is the case, I feel like we could find ourselves spending that money trading in another player, with up to 3 first round picks to use. One trade I can think of could be Reid and Ryan for 3 x FRP? Ross' comments "Buddy was going to Sydney until he didn't" seemed like he may have been referencing TDK, and the Reid deal that was "leaked" is the back-up to spend the money.

Or were confident we can trade him.

$800k (give or take) off the books doesn’t hurt.

If only do it if he wants it and I wouldn’t do it for nothing but I reckon holding him to a contract if he wants out after we’ve moved heaven and earth to bring in his replacement and he has no real natural spot because we want 10 spots better in the draft woukd be pretty poor.
Based on all reports, we don't need to make extra salary cap space so that seems like an unlikely reason to go back on Ross' public statements about not trading contracted players unless it favours us.

Wouldn’t the below just be classified as just good asset management?

Rowan is worth more to us than a pick in the 20s. He is a known commodity to us in a dual ruck set up.

The money is only relevant if we are bursting at the cap - which we aren’t as there is absolutely zero to support that idea

He gets absolutely ruined here. Well played 😂😂😂😍😍

I don’t think we have salary cap issues but if windy and co are haggling over a hundred grand then romas space might help. I’d also argue (and it’s subjective) that having an $800k a year player in the twos doesn’t help us. If the best argument is what if king goes down I don’t think it’s a great argument. “We’ve got an 800k backup Incase our million a year guy gets hurt”

I don’t think so personally. Plenty of good shit that could fill a need or take a shot at a flyer with a pick in the 20s rather than paying someone to play twos.

Again, if Roma wants to stay, don’t trade him, don’t even ask, but I’d be suprised if we’re not considering it if he wants out and I can’t blame him if he does want out.

I have no doubt TDK nominates us, but I was thinking how funny it would be after all the circus all year, he ends up nominating Geelong lol. However, this is all about the $$$ and we have outbid everyone.

He wants out. It’s about value in return.

Geelongs current first is not value in return and we shouldn’t be entertaining selling low here. There is no need to do this.

If Geelong and Marshall have ideas about Ro in their colours, than the cats need to stump up fair cost.

I still think Mitch Cleary is on the money. A top 12 or 15 pick.

We seem happy to play them both, especially when it's 5 on the bench, so it's unlikely we will be making any decision expecting for Marshall to play 2s.

I get what you're saying, I just can't see there being a long list of suitors for Marshall. It's fine to say he's worth a first round pick, but to who?
To a team in the window whose ruck is 35?
He is worth a first to us, and just going off what Lyon said about contracted players.
I also may value ruckmen in general more than you.
Most senior rucks go for decent compo when traded.
Anyway we will see.

Geelong, Carlton and Essendon (if Draper leaves) should all be keen on Ro. Obviously for Blues & Dons, they wouldn't offer a top 10 pick outright but it could be used in a deal.

Not really, makes the Saints account look petty and childish. Hanging off every word Tom posts, but tries to one up him with every reply. Pretty pathetic stuff
Oh please.

Tom wants to report everything as fact and remain open ended on outcome

He got called out for it when trying to correct the guy

He didn’t get called out for it, he was taken out of context. He never gave opinion on where Marshall would be, just said what the clubs position is. Which the twitter poster took out of context to say “tom morris said Marshall isn’t going anywhere”.

And then when Tom points that out, they shoot some childish retorts. He’s reporting what he knows.
