No one player is the answer.

Keen for Nas to stay.

Keen to see our team with TDK in it, will be rejuvenated, sometimes players just need a change and regardless he was very influential first half of this season.

Keen for King and Phillipou to come back, the og messiahs of the current build.

Keen for Wilson and travalgia to work their way back into the side.

Many other young players I could hype up and be optimistic about, point being, there is a reason to be excited by the list, and what we can do at the draft and trade table this off season to bolster it further.

Thats right. Clubs will come for Heath and Marshall
Heard on the radio that Dees are keen on Heath.
I like him. Looks like a good, built kid.
And actually directs his taps and kick goals.
How many ruckmen can you carry on a list. He’s going to want to play regularly. Be a shame to see him go after the years we’ve put into him.

Which is why the Marshall to Geelong talks are going on.

Heath and Keeler both progressing as KPF options that could fill a gap if needed while Dodson is the long term unicorn that will take over in the future.

RoMa becomes the awkward depth/rotation option so the obvious thing to do would be to trade him to a contender while he's got value.

Geelong - The obvious choice
Brisbane - If the Sam Draper talk is legit why not talk to RoMa?
Adelaide - Although I rate ROB for them there's always been talk that they want someone that can rotate with Thilthorpe.

All could have some interest.
You know this?
Or just supposition.
I’d be interested if I were Marshall.
Cats will still be in it for a flag next year and I’m not sure I he’ll be around for when we are hopefully challenging.
Doubt we can pull out of a TDK deal now - probably been courting him for well over a year.

What a crock of shit.

“It’s good for him, it’s good for his family… we’ve got a real battle on our hands”

Not about general development bs but about contract.

Then next question on love for Nasiah

“Hopefully he has a heart” meaning hopefully it IS something that helps sway him.

Nas is already gone. Can bitch and moan but it’s actually about what Ross does with the team next year. He’ll find a way I’m sure.

On the "battle on our hands" - perhaps you're right that it's about the fight to keep him. But if you're going to analyse every word out of Ross' mouth so closely, what do you make of him saying we're trying to develop a player for the next 8 years? Are we developing him for Port Adelaide?

As for the "hopefully he has a heart" - the man was joking. He had literally just said "I don't have a heart, so it wouldn't work on me" and was smiling and laughing through the whole answer. The truth is, fans holding up signs isn't going to make any difference whatsoever. Ross knows that.

I would really caution against taking anything Ross Lyon says too seriously. Nas might leave, but reading between the lines of Ross' press conference word salad is riddiculous. Especially grumpy Ross.

Have we not thrown this money at every mid available or contemplating a move in the league at this point?
So we throw that money at an area of the ground that isn't a concern?
TDK looks behind Heath and Dodson off his performances at this stage
Why invest a disproportionately large amount of our salary cap on a player and an area that we don't need?
We missed those players because of our irrelevancy.
We keep NAS we are relevant again and those elite players will come.

To suggest TDK is behind those two is utterly laughable.

Marshall asking for a trade would be helpful for us. Because Moose deserves a sustained crack at playing AFL & that won’t happen for us with
TDK & Marshall.
IMO, we’re at a stage now where we’ve cut the list so hard that I think we need list stability and there’s more benefits from keeping both Steele and Ro than if we were to lose them for twisty packets.

Also need to consider the impact on the playing group in terms of more instability and what that may mean for them.

all the way with TDK,if he is already signed just suck it up and get behind him,if he isnt let the club work it out,im sure someone making the decisions is keeping one eye on carlton games

not even a consideration to back off from him now if its a done deal, catastrophic stupidity,so cant see any sense in harping on about it

Im sure we can get this thread to part 3 by years end
Our biggest problem is the Nas’ mum wants him home in Adelaide, let’s hope he grows a set and signs up otherwise we cash in BIG TIME like we did with Plugger. It’s not all doom and gloom, we need talent everywhere.
Remember Gazza senior never won a flag and he was twice the player as Nas.
