Absolutely he should be booed.

Imagine walking out after a club took a punt on you, developed you, and promised you a long term future.

Yet you pack up for the homesickness of Adelaide?!? They build these players tough these days huh? Pathetic.

Shameful behaviour for me and yes Saints fans should quickly turn on him if he bails the big sook.

Absolutely agree with this. You’re in Victoria, not Iceland!!!!

Took a punt on him.

He was pick 11 😂 real ****ing Smokey

Wonder if it's best to just assume Nas is leaving and then hope to be pleasantly surprised.

Still just don't see how a trade gets done.

Great news about Hall and Box.

My interpretation of our off season hasn't changed for a few months now. My guess at the big moves:

Nas traded for Bergman/Berry, Port 2026 1st rounder and 2025 2nd rounder

Marshall traded for Geelong 1st rounder

Trade Geelong's pick for Aleer

Take TDK as FA

Nas, Marshall out. TDK, Aleer, Bergman/Berry, Port 2025 R2, Port 2026 R1 in

Honestly, I hate it but that's what I'm expecting. Maybe we get Whitlock as well. Windy is also getting to be a concern. Maybe we're waiting for confirmation that Nas is leaving before offering him a decent contract. Because he's the kind of player who will be squeezed out if we're trying to pay the two biggest contracts in the history of the sport in TDK and Nas.

Because all top 20 picks come off.

And we showed the faith when others didn’t. Else he’s number 1 pick no?

Loyalty once meant something in the game. Regardless of flipping state borders.

Maybe that’s why we took it off the badge this year?

This simply cannot be the return for Nas. It's not enough.

Remember everyone laughing at WCE when they traded Judd for a bunch of picks and some spud forward called Kennedy.
Whitlock will be our Kennedy.

22 pages to go on other thread and now 15 here

wading through all the back and forth crap over the 2 year thing which could just be settled with a"we can agree to disagree"surely,thought i would comment on 2 other things though

1.dont want jack silvagni ffs,always injured 28yo

2.ports ability to organise a trade this year(i still want to keep Naz,so hypothetical worst case scenario)

does butters want to return to melbourne this year or next?

NO-move on,bad luck Naz your staying at saints for now

YES
would butters be ok going to richmond or essendon(assuming saints is a NO,which some say,either through actual knowledge or a saints deafitist attitude,dont know which but lets say NO)?

so they have the picks that can get the trade done,it would hurt if he was prepared to go to an absolute shitdump like essendon and not us,so lets use richmond who at least have a clear direction

richmond=gain butters lose picks 3 and 4
port=gain naz lose butters f1
saints=gain picks 3 and 4 this year ports f1 lose naz

or

richmond=gain butters lose picks 3 and 4
port=gain naz keeler lose butters whitlock f1
saints=gain picks 3 and 4 this year ports f1 whitlock lose naz keeler

i know we dont want to lose naz,but this is if he is going & it is a way port could get it done,but if butters is adamant cats or dogs then bad luck port

He's not contracted. We have to take the best offer.

Look at what happened last time we opted for a moral victory at the trade table instead of taking the best offer. Our departing player and the player who was offered in the trade beat us in the grand final 10 months later.

What are we better off with? Bergman, a 1st and a 2nd or nothing?

Let the games begin. This will be one serious stoush as we try to get a decent return on investment and Port offers peanuts. I really can't see Port being able to get the necessary trade collateral together even if they wanted to. And BTW, I think the real villain here is NWM’s manager. He managed to get JHF to Port for unders. That manger is acting more like a recruiting manager for the Port Adeliade football club than a player manager. I wonder whose payroll he is on?
It’s starting to look like we’ve been used as leverage the whole time for the SA deals, noting Caro was running the story months ago we had our man when he met with SOS.

Then you’ve got the leaks this week around Bassat’s pitch in Brighton months ago which I don’t entirely understand. Is BW hoping for the club to reload another offer, only to be used as leverage again, or is he positioning an exit for Nas where the club’s placed in a poor light?

I don't agree with that at all, pay fair value or he can go to the draft.

Contracted or not, the system allows us to still maximise our return or risk going to Perth.

Loyalty has been dead a long time my man.

Boo him if you want but claiming we took a punt on a first rounder is peak nuff stuff.
