Sorry guys, they're coming down to inform Bassatt in person that the food at the dinner party wasn't up to scratch.
Well that's what happens when you Uber Eats Entrecote

they’re replaying the final quarter of last weeks game at marvel prior to the match tomorrow. I can see a world where announce it after that to the crowd. Family across from Adelaide, our last home game.
I love your optimism.

It would be incredible if it was true.

I am hearing Naz wants to run through the banner with Josh Battle's kids

I actually watched him a couple of times in the VFL. A game against Collingwood him and Nick Bryan looked a cut above the rest, he was dominant. Obviously only one game, and in 2023, but no doubt there is talent there.
And plays a role we aren’t exactly flush with consistent performers in. I would rather us do this then give contracts to Cordy, Boyd, Campbell as back ups. That’s what contenders do not rebuilding clubs looking for your next batch of talent.

I keep telling myself Nas is staying, but then questions pop up like -

If he were staying why would he leave it so long to announce?

Surely money or contract details are not an issue?

Why are the Port crew so confident they get him?

Then the other side of the brain says if he was leaving he wouldn't be putting in the huge efforts he is on field.

Lyon wouldn't look so settled in his answers to the media.

Why would we all of a sudden be looking at bringing his cousin to the club?

It's a head fxck really!

Announcement is club driven so really it’s up to the marketing team on how they’d wanna go about it. Final home game seems a fair starting point

Normally rumour starts before the announcement.

Theres been nothing.

Still think we are in the box seat it is just that Nas’s value keeps rising every game he plays so what motivation does he or Williams have to lock in the deal the longer they wait the more he is getting paid. Only a serious injury is going to change that.

If he had signed two weeks ago he would be out of pocket by maybe as much as $1M going on rumour. Mind you that has probably maxed out now not much chance he could increase his value any more than right now and there is only risk in those last 4 games will be interesting to see how he plays tomorrow.

Suspect he and Williams are extracting the latest offers after last weekends miracle and playing them off against each other to get the maximum they can from the club they want to play for and I still believe that will be us.

Williams is becoming the object of our rage on here but he has played a blinder he has kept all the bidding parties believing they are in the race and held his nerve while NAS has gone from very good half back to star midfielder. He has backed his player to increase his value all while keeping completely quiet on the preferred outcome and keeping the competitive tension at maximum.

Don't think we can bemoan Williams too much in all this. Managing a player in a contract year that has elevated to top five in the comp, he had to milk it.

Still think Nas stays as he will know that Port just can't pay anywhere near his value. As Hutchy said, they didn't plan for this.
Does he manage other players at the club ? Giving to one player and bleeding the others dry ? Yeh good on him . His commission is increasing by the day I guess .

Imagine the vibe in the crowd if we knew nas had signed just before the game
Really trying to stay positive that's he's staying, just don't think it's happening though
Its pretty sad that it is stressing me out this much

The future 3rd for Billings turned into Boxshall who is signed till the end of 2028 so at minimum he will be on an AFL list long after Billings.
Hopefully becomes much more than that as well.

Still unders for what was 2 key top 10 players for us for along time. Hopefully it's a massive win. We deserve a bit of luck.

It will be frustrating if he leaves (looks likely) and we don’t get any transparency from the club.

Find it hard to believe SOS didn’t lowball him (and probably Windy) at the start of the year.

If we lose Nas and Windy we have completely ****ed it.

He stuffed up Battle last year. Sounds like he left it until he'd already mentally moved on before coming in with the final offer and by then he wasn't checking back in.

Wasn't Membrey offered a contract but took two from Collingwood? Never delisted.

I think we offered him a year and told him he's likely playing VFL. Wanted two and let him look around. Delisted him to get him to where he wanted to go.
