With 3 games to play I think the chances of Nasiah leaving are growing by the day 70/30 gone in my view. Ive now come to terms with losing him and believe if he stays it will be a huge bonus. It will be a terrible time to lose a player of his calibre, but if the club can walk away with a decent trade we will recover.

Given Nas's now midfield capacities he will be tough to replace, but we may be able to actually improve the list as a whole if he requests a trade. Given his connections Im pretty sure if he does leave it will be to Port, so they are going to have give significant player/s to get the trade done.

If he doesnt want to remain in Melbourne because of his family pull, most will understand and respect his decision given we get fairly compensated.
Nah f*** that. He's a professional sportsman being paid $1 mil plus p.a. This homesickness thing gives me the shits with AFL footballers. He's a one hour plane flight away from his family. Homesick schmomesick. If he leaves and we get sfa or poor compensation he will be f****** us over. And if he does leave and Port don't have the capital they're willing to part with for a fair trade, he'll go to the draft and end up there anyway. We will get nothing and the rest of the AFL world will just shrug and/or trot out the homesick bullshit.

I don’t have any inside information. This is just my belief. History shows us that the far majority of past players who have not signed by August do change clubs.

There a couple of examples that buck this trend, including Dusty and De Goey. Those examples are the exception rather than the rule. Neither of those players had the same situation as Nas. Ie wanting to move to their home state.

Round 21 and there is still no signature. Saints will have to start to plan ahead for trade period and what that looks like.

This is only my opinion and not based on any fact or insider knowledge. I fully suspect that round 24 game against the Giants will be the final time we will see Nas in a Saints jumper.
Thing is, those players who did move usually by this point have actually met opposition clubs in some capacity. I dont see any actual mention of either Port or Adelaide having serious talks with Nas, it all seems to be through his manager so far.

No guarantees in this world but my gut is that when Nas says "its between my manager and the club" he literally means he is leaving it up to his manager in entirety who is a campaigner of an operator.

The issue is how do they get it done?

I’ve got tickets to the night with nas and steel at the Seaford hotel. I find it really strainge that if he was going to leave he would agree to this kind of qna. It’s bogan central and the people won’t beat around the bush
Players pull out of these things all the time. Don't think it means a whole lot that it's scheduled.

If he hasn't re-signed, he won't be there. Guaranteed. I told this story 200+ pages ago, but I went to one of these Q&A nights a few years ago and, when we arrived, we were told Max King was a late withdrawal because he'd had a training setback earlier in the week and clearly didn't want to spend the night answering questions about his injury.

They replaced him with Rowan Marshall though, so I assume you'll get a decent player in his place. They won't send you Ryan Byrnes.

I do find it interesting that he's even agreed to do this. Nas and Steele for a Q&A evening doesn't exactly sound like the liveliest line-up. Both are pretty quiet and reserved.

LOF with that degree of ignorance I doubt you have ever had exposure to indigenous families, their culture and the importance of their community. If he can get the same money whilst living where you choses to, why wouldnt you ask for a trade. If he does move back he will be in a position to financially help out his family and share his sucess.

Its not about being home sick, its about living closer to his family in the city of his chosing.

He isnt contracted but when a player nominates a specific club its up to them to make the trade work. If you consider the trade possibilities there is no way Port can get the trade done without being reasonable. Otherwise he goes to the draft or PSD which is not what they or Nas will want.

Assume with news of the Dees issues we’ll be picking the eyes out of their list and making inquiries with anyone that shows even a hint of looking for a new home.
Like the look of Langdon but unsure of his contract status.

The one player I'd go for from Melbourne is Kade Chandler.

Have he and Max Hall rotate for the next 10 years.

Quite frankly, if Port think they are going to give us two future draft picks from heavily compromised drafts as compensation because he is out of contract and we should take whatever we can get, I'd rather the club just send him to the PSD and get nothing.
Make a deal with west coast to pick him up . Give us some decent picks for a for a fringe player or something then we ll put him in the pre season draft . What’s he gonna do - not play footy for a year ? Then at least they can do all of this in a years time and trade him for something decent .
Reality is if he goes we ll get screwed

Yeah, his price is going up with every game.
The manager is just doing what the manager should.
Ensuring his client gets the top price.
My feeling is that Nas stays too.
But, l had that same feeling with Battle.
