TDK is obviously gone.

Question I think now is...

Saints or Cats?

I spent the last 15 years of my career working in a very small team of specialists in a very highly pressurised, demanding and politically sensitive environment. It was extremely hard to recruit bright young people because of the pressure. Our work was designing and negotiating solutions acceptable for all parties.

One of the most challenging aspects was negotiating with relatively inexperienced ego driven people in positions of power. They simply didn't understand the "rules," those subtle signals that could get them what they wanted in a slightly different way, because if we openly offered it they would immediately become suspicious and back away. It was extremely tedious and time-consuming. Sometimes stuff took months, or years, to achieve outcomes that really switched on negotiators would agree to much, much sooner.

It seems Ben Williams is the problem, that his ego is in the way of nailing the "agreed" outcome and that he's simply ****ing around with almost irrelevant details.

I call BS. If Nas wants to have a quiet confidential chat with his manager, the very last place on Earth he'd want to be is a deli in Brighton
Why would it need to be quiet and confidential? May have had it elsewhere then popped down to the deli after.

The more pertinent question is what did they order at the Dendy Deli? Protein-rich like an omlette suggests he's still playing for increased dollars and unsigned, something more carb-rich like a toastie or croissant says he's content and signed.

And now we wait.

Remember that TDK is a restricted free agent.

Cats would most likely pay a lot less than St Kilda, in which case Blues could match forcing a trade. That would cool the Cats interest.
This is true but Geelong don’t care about draft picks

I understand your points. We have been our biggest enemy whilst there has been inequality in the AFL. So, until we get out own house in order, crying to the AFL about FS/Academy isn't doing to change the fact we are poorly run.

Add to that, we are pushing to remove the FS rule when we have at least 5-6 potential FS picks on the way. Why try and remove something that may end up finally benefitting us? I understand there are no guarantees but there is every chance a Lenny Hayes jnr is playing at a different club, all thanks to our own stupidity.

Somebody make it make sense to me?
I don't think we are pushing to remove anything. The whole purpose is to make the payment of FS and NGA's fair.

Even if FS was removed, if a player wants to play for their fathers club after two years, that club had to pay his worth.

Say Daicos went to West Coast, Collingwood would need to pay appropriate compensation like 3 firsts.

The draft was supposed to equalise the comp, how does that work when finals teams get Daicos, or Darcy, or the Suns get three NGA's in the top ten while a bottom four team has no access to them, or the Premier get the best player in the draft while bottom six doesn't get a look in.
Just make it fair.
