I still think he has verbally agreed to stay and still haggling of $ and length. I had a Deed of Settlement go back and forth for two-three months notwithstanding we had a heads of agreement but needed to properly articulate it in a Deed.

I’ve had my right hand going back and forward for the last few months anticipating a decision

People were judging body language and make assertions based on words he used or didn’t.

FWIW a good mate of mine, from the Saints, was talking with me this afternoon about what we might be able to extract for him.

He also does not post on BF.

He was talking Rozee, Dawson, Butters types, that’s how we will position ourselves if he hits the frog and toad.

This will not be a walkover, so get used to it. It’s the new AFL.

What happens if it goes to mediation though? They can't force us to take unders. I still think they need to stump up a lot, he'll be the best player to be traded in years and it will be incredibly stressful for Nas. He needs to accept that it's not just a given he gets there

mediation with crows is one thing,with Port surely we have the upper hand,they have one thing-players,the AFL would have to break their own rules for us to be screwed with future first round draft picks

if he nominates port we make it clear=PLAYERS,no bending rules to give us picks 12 and 15 if they remain pretty crap,15 and 18 if they shoot up the ladder a bit,which with naz and an easier fixture they well might=get to it afl,mediate with players only if its port

(i know crows picks will be worse,but the afl wont be breaking their own rules to screw us)

And so we should be but not sure we have that much bargaining power - we accept what's on offer or we let him walk to the draft.

I would pretty much rule out Draper in a trade. He’s from Adelaide he wouldn’t want to come to Vic to play for the Saints.

The others you could argue gets them closer to home so might appeal.

I would want the Rozee, Butters and Dawson types in exchange for Nas if he goes back to SA, he's on that level.

If they offer up lesser players like Bergman or Draper they will need to throw in some top 10 draft picks as well.

If you want to get one of the best players with more upside to be one of the all time greats, they need to pay up.
