Asked ChatGPT to compile Ryan’s stats over the last 2 seasons when WCE won or lost by 5 goals.

In the games West Coast either won or lost by less than five goals, Ryan averaged about 12‑13 disposals, four marks and more than three score involvements per match . He often hit the scoreboard himself (about 1.3 goals per game across both seasons) and created opportunities for team‑mates with at least one goal assist per outing . That level of production shows he was an influential forward in matches where the Eagles were competitive or winning.

Battle, Cripps, Billings, Coffield, Paton, Adams… slim pickings
What about Riley Bonner? Played 19 games for us in one season and was chopped. Plays seconds at Melbourne I think, and well. Highmore has been runner-up B&F at Port Melbourne too. Just to name two more.

Just on Wood - I have noticed he has looked really unhappy in the last 6 - 8 weeks with quite poor body language and being openly demonstrative with other players (one incident sticks where Mitch spoiled him flying for the same mark where Mase would have taken it almost uncontested but ended up getting smashed by Owens).

I don't blame him at all as we are playing him forward through needs; although he looks a bit cooked I would back him to have at least a couple of very good seasons if we move him back to the wing full-time.

I think you can if they can still play seniors, until Nas extends he's next contract & these guys might still be part of our success in coming years.

I can see Nas taking over the Hill role as the First Nation's elder for the team when Hill retires.

I thought he was back to his best in the last few games.

They are definitely going after a midfielder.

Probably worthy speculation now that How good that player might be is also going to impact Windy along with Steele.

I don't see how Ryan gets done without parting with an F2. They may even want more. I keep joking about Harley Reid but Reid and Ryan for 3 1sts works for me.

George Wardlaw is a name mentioned earlier in the year, he's still not signed beyond 2026. I really want Windy to stay, I think he's a heart and soul type, but if he wants out for that North deal - Id be asking the question of Wardlaw.

Walsh the other obvious one, I didnt see his first game back last week but by numbers he looks to have dominated yet again.

Then we've got Flanders who might be a good, cheapish option.

What other mids could we be after?

With TDK, Aleer, Ryan, Fincher, R1 draftee and probably an upgrade- theres not a lot of spots free without losing someone who is contracted (Roma, Steele).

I want Zac Bailey 10x more than any of those other guys

100% agree.

Macrae was recruited to keep the midfield ticking over as the younger generation comes through to replace.

He has fulfilled that and more - plus we don't know the work he has done off the field to teach the youngsters with his professionalism and craft.

I think it's a great sign if Macrae starts to be pushed out of the middle.

But the opinion that he is cooked is just so far from being accurate that it should be called out.
3 time AA and we got him for peanuts, its a good pick up (espically when you compare to how much North paid for Daniel)

Also, with the amount of players we are looking to bring in this free agency/trade period and also linked to, it reminds me of Mr Burns' softball team

Well Ross-the-Boss had finally done it
The St Kilda Saints had won it
With Kane Cornes clucking all the while
Purple's tragic illness made us smile
While Lockett's opponent lay unconscious on the barroom tile...

We're talkin' fooball...

So having a stand alone reserves team, don’t all the players have to be on our books? If yes, does that mean we get a bigger list or … wtf happens?

Just means the players not actually on our list are playing for St Kilda VFL. They don't need to be on our senior or rookie list.
