Geez there is gonna be some tough exit interviews in the next day or two if we have TDK, Jsos, Ryan, Aleer already tapped up, with our 1st round pick and Fincher waiting in the wings.
If it improves us then so be it

There you go Joffaboy all the iron clad ins and outs of the contract details straight from 'THE' website as requested
Using the graduate journo student who is employed by the club is less reliable that any of the footy media numbskulls.

Take this story on the club website about Brad Crouch signing for example... no mention of the games trigger that we were all very aware of last season.

Depends how he sees North going the next few years. Although to be fair after five years in the bottom two they finally broke into the top 16 this year.
It makes little sense to lock yourself away for 4 years on that gap.

2 is understandable.

It’s not like he doesn’t have offers. North have put a big contract infront of him

He's right about one thing mate. Nobody here has shown any proof that Max's contract has games triggers. It may well have... but asking to see proof isn't over the top.

Things are getting ridiculously cliquey around here. Anyone questions anything by the club or doesn't take for gospel something said by the rose coloured glasses brigade and they get jumped on straight away.

It's getting like a bunch of 12 year old girls.
Minimum game requirements for contract extensions are extremely common for even mid term contracts across the league. We know Crouch had one as late as last year and he had no injury concerns when he came across.

No, no one truly knows the contract terms King is under but its very safe to assume that a long term contract has safety clauses, minimum payments etc.. that protect both sides. People just like to pretend the club has no common sense to fit some sort of narrative that we are poorly run, just look at the SOS hysteria in here of late.

Are you saying the gap between our offer and North’s is 200 - 300k a year ?
I’m saying the reported offers have us at 500k and north somewhere between 700-800k.

What I posted the other week before all this was that the windy group wanted north of 800k and there was a big gap in negotiations.

I’m not the one making baseless claims lol.

Are you sure ? All for open discourse and healthy discussion of opposing views but the below would suggest you're not even trying.

Where’s the proof on that? It was only ever said on here, nowhere else.

Kings contract has no outs

There’s none. He’s signed until 2032

Max king? His contract extension overlaps with his old contract

Aleer rumoured offer $600k plus incentives.

I’m sorry but if we loose Windhager by low balling him we deserve what we get, kids had better than a good year. He’s proven he can stop the best players in the competition and win plenty of the ball himself.

Oh well good luck to the kid, if he takes the coin it will be great pick up for north he’s just what they need.

It was spoken about on SEN or Triple M that Max's deal was similar to Mac Andrews' (not actually a guaranteed 10 years but a 5 & 5 with games played triggers.)

I know that's not enough evidence for any of the Mean Girls clique who want to believe that the club locked themselves in to a 10 year, $10m deal that has no protection for the club in event of a career ending injury. etc.

I think we have proven that we haven’t low balled a single ****ing player and sos even gave the veterans a goodwill bonus.

I’m still perfectly happy to side with Windy/agent wants their piece of the money pie that Nas TDK probably owens all got and we are probably at 600-650 as opposed to 800-850.

Imagine them without TDK, Curnow and Silvagni next year (if they all go). They'll be bottom 4.
port exodus starting also, rioli burton probably finlayson,we should have a leg up on at least 7 teams to start next season, perenial bottom 3 plus blues port dees and the druggies

Possibly, I'm just trying to highlight the ridiculous nature of his statement. Hi response to posters was "prove it", so that was the response back that I gave. Unless anyone in here happens to have a copy of Max's contract, then no-one can prove anything!! All anyone can produce is media copy!! Stupid ****ing statement from one of a cohort of posters that seem hell-bent on proving that everything our club does is crap......no matter what.

I think one cup in the cabinet for 150 years of existence is proof enough that we haven't got much right over the journey. But the current crew are not responsible for anything prior to the past 3 years, so let's stop trying to punish the son for the sins of the father shall we! The fact is that our list is looking in it's best shape for near on 20 years, and that doesn't make it perfect, but it does give cause for optimism. I for one, am sick of those that seem determined to suck the joy out of the current scenario for all those around them.

To come up with such an wildly delusional statement as "prove it" in reference to a player's contract clauses, to try and win sad points on an internet forum, thoroughly deserves a stupid response like "prove it doesn't".........

And your right Sully, no-one has shown any proof that Max's contract has games triggers, but neither has anyone come up with any proof that it doesn't.............................;)

Worth pointing out.

People ranted and raved about the decisions made under the Ross leadership since he returned.

  • Gresham
  • Battle/Tauru
  • the apparent exodus that Ross squashed etc.

If people want FACTS, then the facts are that this leadership in its 3 years, hasn’t done anything that has put the club at risk. It has walked a clear path with a focus on youth and getting games into them. It never removed its target of wanting to strive and play finals - which attracted its own heat as we evidently rebuilt on the run.

It signed Nas as everyone wanted - even though it was probably 500k more than it hoped for.

So it’s highly likely that both the King contract and the TDK deal aren’t as horrific as claimed or fear mongered.

This regime has done the right thing by its players:

  • given a bonus gift to veterans in preparation for its attack on new players.
  • looked after the likes of Dow (gave a 1 year extension) and to an extent crouch - who they let make a call and didn’t attempt to persuade him otherwise.

It’s fought for the fans and stood the club up on its own 2 feet after bending over for over a decade and taking whatever was thrown its way.

Until proven otherwise, I believe they deserve the benefit of the doubt.

That's all great.

But if someone states there's a games trigger in Max's contract... STATES it, without any proof, it's ok to question that. In doing so it's ridiculous to label that person as someone who is pretending the club has no common sense and hates sos etc.

Again, there may well be a games clause, but until that's proven to be true I'm not going to just blindly believe it.

The highlighted is exactly my point. It's been stated here several times that that clause exists. That's where this all started. It's fair go say "ok cool... please show me that that's the case"

If there is any truth about JSOS, Marshall might be out the door and JSOS rotates forward and ruck?

Imagine that, TDK and JSOS rucking for us 🤣

Potentially get JSOS for free and first rounder for Marshall ?

Just spitballing

If it’s a trade off between JSOS and Marshall I’m taking Marshall.

I don’t think SOS should be making list decisions relating to his own son.
