2025 List Management Discussion - Part 3

Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.
Be respectful. You are allowed to disagree with someone - but play the ball, not the man. Repeat offenders will have their posting rights revoked.

2025 KEY DATES
Free Agency Period: Friday, October 3rd - Friday, October 10th
Trade Period: Monday, October 6th - Wednesday, October 15th
AFL Draft: Wednesday, November 19th - Thursday, November 20th

I enjoy the Geelong fans calling us a crap club for not going to the nothing trade day yesterday is also funny.

Love it by why spuds game. Kills any atmosphere. Its like a televised funeral.

Spud's game should be just a fan thing. Do the ceremonial stuff before the players come out. The players can do media during the week to promote/honour Spud and after the game but they shouldn't be part of the pre game match day events. Spud himself would say there is a game to be won so concentrate all your energy both physical and mental on that.

Agree. Who wants to play a match after the funeral of their favourite uncle? If there is every anything to make you question the actual importance of a footy match, that will be it.

I think they should make it more generic now than Spuds Game and more about mental health generally. Still have pre match lead up heavy reference to Spud, but if we want it to go for ever, you need no not have it solely reported to one person, otherwise that relevance expires.

Overall it’s a great step forwards on a number of levels.

Didn't really plan on sharing anything. Just saw a silly post about saints fans preparing to racially vilify Nas if he didn't re-sign and added it as an afterthought. Saw some further communications later and just added them to the place I'd already shared it.

I'm not a regular poster on here these days tbh.

It's way too morbid for any pregame and brings the atmosphere down every time. You can't have that for the first game of the season which should be full of excitement and hope.

Not to mention, it's mainly filled with generic, unhelpful mental health catchphrases because a football pregame is generally not a great venue for any meaningful conversation. I understand what the Frawley family are trying to do but I still dont believe this game works as a concept.

It's nothing scandalous.

Just a loved one oversharing details from somebody else's work with a group of friends that don't know what she's talking about.

But one of those friends asks her husband if she had heard of what it being talked about and is able to figure out pretty easily who she is and who the player in question is.
