Getting Annabel will sort of cost the Lions what you indicated.
If both stayed, we would be sitting on 1156 points including pick 19 to get Annable. So not enough points.

But we also got Draper and Allen without losing a trade (so, for no points).

A better way to look at it - We got Draper and Allen in exchange for Ah-Chee & Starcevich
Draper and Allen are costing the Lions more in player cap space compared to the two leaving
We indirectly get a top 5 draft pick Annable for pick 19

Annable will be on a set low contract for a few years.
That helps offset the difference in cap space (Draper + Allen less what we paid Starcevich & Ah-Chee)
Or Annable low contract + Starcevich & Ah-Chee old contract amount, compared to the new Draper + Allen contract.
What the difference is i have no idea. But it will be more.

To claw some money back the Lions will also make cap space room by losing or delisting players like Dev who would be on more money than a draftee coming in.Brilliantly explaie

Some people just reach a point where they've had enough of a place and want to go home to friends and family. He's achieved probably more than he imagined with the Lions

He also now has the whole challenge in front of him, and to be a stand-out leader at that club. To bring a second club from the absolute bottom back into contention would be extremely rewarding.
Brandon is clearly a leader and will be well connected and supported in Perth.

Had a quick look at his linked in profile.
Fair set of credentials at a top private school.

Who will replace ah chee role?
A lot of what AhChee did was Linc's role before his knees.. So depends if he back up and going you expect him to get it back.

The tall dropping back for end of qtr used to be Joe then Cal. I say Gallop could do that as well he seems good defensively.
Or Draper if we play two rucks with Fort

With free agency I do not like the extra picks in first round.
Do not really like how the club getting the player only puts up cash as well.
Not fair on other crap clubs their picks keep sliding back.
Should be 18 first round picks only.
Add extra picks after round 1 and round 2 etc

Band one gets you one extra pick end of first and 2nd round pick from team getting the player
Band two gets you end of 2nd and 3rd round pick from team getting player.

If you want an Academy or Father son which prob go in the first round.
You need to start with a first round pick and then points.
Example this year Blues, Suns and Lions all need one first round pick as starting point.
yes then teams needing a pick shuffle to pick 16-18 although no extras.

If the Suns or us have three kids probably going first round we will need 3 picks.

Fort was also pretty good at dropping back this season. As with everything in his game, improved as the season progressed.

Pretty happy the club resigned Tunstill.
It feels like he has been around for ages, but he is only 22 years old.
Good depth as a midfielder.

I wonder with Starcevich leaving if he could be trialed in that lockdown defender role preseason.
If not successful, it's an easy transition back to the midfield.

Tunstill: 187cm and 81kg
Starcevich: 188cm and 90kg

Didn't really have a choice to resign him.

If we delisted more guys, our list would see significant turnover, which would be a risk considering who we will still have on the sidelines come week 1 of the season.
