Feel a bit bad and surprised that a deal couldn't be done for a great servant of the club but if the reports are true and their best and final offer was a future 2nd and 3rd which is basically picks 40 and 60 roughly (assuming they're a top 4 club and there's a few academy selections etc), then I'm fine with no deal being done there.

More than happy to lose Cal for nothing rather than roll over and take what’s pretty close to worthless for us. Does send a message and I think we’re in the perfect position as a club and list to send it. Lots of clubs will be coming after our players and they’ll need to think twice before doing it.

Cal might still get to the Crows but if it were a higher caliber player in the future there’s no chance they’ll take the PSD risk. I like Cal but any club paying him the rumored contract Adelaide is, especially after going out in straight sets so pathetically isn’t a club I’m particularly worried about.

We’re still the best team in it and only got stronger this offseason.

You list manager is the new Dodoro. Wouldnt take a 2 and a 3 for a guy that not worth a first and I think everyone in the AFL world knows that. You piss of a player manager for what...it just sours people against wanting to go there if they cant look after players who have won them a flag.
I heard Khamis and his manager are filthy at the rotten Blues for promising the world and completely forgetting about him whilst putting on their “Dodoro” cap and doing everything they could to screw the Swans for Curnow. Get a grip mate

I stopped reading after your first sentence. In response, I will just say that after this year's trade period and your great list management, your club is going to be shit for a very long time.

Taking trade tips from a Carlton nuffie haha.

Not even Dodoro followed through with the PSD threat unlike your grubby club with Jack Martin.

For the record, a mid 20's pick would've got Cal done but Adelaide thought we'd take a pick in the mid 40's instead.

Mid 20's isn't a first round pick.

Cal's manager saying he is disappointed in the Lions, WTF. What about the f ing Crows not valuing Cal at more than a late 2nd rounder.
He still needs to secure the 5 year contract with the Crows via the PSD. He’s not going to start bad mouthing them before that is officially done haha. We are the easy target. He’d be just as annoyed the Crows didn’t offer a better deal.

hahahaha Dom is god, our list manager has nailed just about every trade for 8 years, delivered back to back baby, so ill back him in on this one

Crows offered F2 and F3. If they win the flag in 2026 (highly unlikely) it evens out to Pick 36. If they come 8th (far more likely) it's 24; and if they drop to 12th (not impossible) it's Pick 19. It's reasonable but clearly it wasn't enough to convince Brisbane not to seriously piss off a dual premiership player with a far better offer on the table from another club, and let him go for nothing.

2 years ago the first pick of the second round was pick 30

There must be a back story to the Ah Chee trade falling through. The Crows only needed a pick in the 20-25 range to get it done. What they were offering was clearly not near that and they didn't appear to make any effort to secure a pick in that range from elsewhere.

When Dom Ambrogio was asked last week why Cal wanted to leave he said he didn't know and that the interviewer should ask Cal that question. He also said that Cal had a very good offer on the table from the Lions.

All year Cal has not looked himself and appeared quite emotional about leaving.

Surely, the Crows would have assured Cal that they would get the Trade done and his manager would have been very aware of what our expectations were.

There has to be more to this than meets the eye.

If those picks were actually worth anything near those values, why didnt they trade them for that pick in a “weaker draft”

Crows have offered Ah Chee a good deal knowing he can contribute towards potentially making a grand final. Not willing to part with pick 16(which will end up around pick 20-22) in an average draft to get said player in the door though.

When you are around the top 4 and able to add key pieces to improve your side you just get it done. Crows fans saying they jumped through hoops to help us land Charlie Cameron at the trade table… We did exactly as I stated above. We identified Charlie as a player we wanted who could help us rise up the ladder and didn’t play any games, we just offered pick 12 and got it done. Considered overs at the time when we had a couple other top 20 picks to offer and still desperately needed quality draftees in the door. We offered the highest pick(12), however, to lock it away and the rest is history.

Future second(pick 35 at best) and a future third(pick 48-50) is a joke tbh. Ah Chee is so underrated. Absolute gun, two time premiership player in his prime. Glad we made a stand.
Cameron was contracted! hence the over pay.

Ben Williams also said the club knew for months that Cal wanted to go to Adelaide
