He definitely didn't answer it like the best player we have had in decades is about to leave. He knows.
Yes, it seems as though he does.

I reckon NWM has probably verbally committed without signing the thing yet.

Probably still haggling over finer details.

Still don’t think Roma gets a first. Could Roma and a third (if it’s a club with academy players) get a first?

Just don’t see it at his age.
Cats had Stanley rucking today at 35 years of age.

They may think Marshall has at least another 100 games in him at the top level.

I reckon they would part with a first if they thought he was potentially a missing piece to take them to the Flag.

Cats have an amazing record of nailing later draft picks and developing them into very good players.

Thats been going on for nearly two months. The problem is that NWM just keeps playing his best football ever so his manager asks a few more questions.

Still absolutely certain he will re-sign with the Saints.

For all the years of “not another halfback flanker”, I actually think we need one now.

Nas is looking everybit the star mid we have been looking for. Sincs getting older and not looking quite as hungry as previous years. Hastie is unproven. The others are all defence first types, of which Webster is coming to the end, McLennan is likely delisted, O'Connell is a lockdown type.

Would have been great to have the foresight to take Tom McCarthy or Riley Bice in last years draft.

Fincher will come in. Is there any money all types we can look at?

Maybe the Travaglia pick was for this reason?

Doubt it. Ross and list mgmt have always referred to Trav as a mid. Could play there short term but long term should be an inside mid

Hastie is the obvious replacement for NWM but Byrnes was the one Ross brought in today to release NWM - I think that was a result of a reshuffle to cover Butler (Wood forward, Hastie wing, Byrnes HB)

Sinclair had 33 disposals today - wouldn't say that's a concern. As previous poster said we'll get Fincher in. We also still have Arie if needed (ideally we can keep him forward). I also feel like half backs are generally easier to find since they can be converted from forwards/mids so I'm not too fussed about rushing to find a successor. NWM was drafted as a winger and IIRC Sincs was drafted as a half forward?

If we draft a Sam Grlj this year, he could be a good option

Personally think Wilson should do a pre season there...

Wasted as a half fwd in this system

i reckon we trade wilson for whitlock (who I know nothing about) or someone that we rate before the rest of the footy world realise his limitations

(I said a similar thing re pou mid VFL stint last year and then he had back to back BOGs for us, Im not saying it was all due to my post, but occam's razor innit)

Let's not trade Wilson

Pretty sure he dropped Joey and Dal at some point didn’t he?

Hopefully older Ross can be swayed by others, Hills in the Jones catagorey now, offers nothing on field, he might be a leader and culture guy but he can do that Mon-Fri and let someone else do it on a weekend.

Stand by it, don’t see Geelong giving up a first for Roma. Hope I’m wrong
What bollocks. Check the stats.

"there's no update".. then in the next breath.. "there are now senior people at st kilda who would say we're probably in some real trouble".

that, to me, would constitute an update - if he hadn't just made it up on the spot
Lucky we had the verbal “wink, wink” from Ross in his presser.
“Good things come…”

If we really thought internally he was gone, the club messaging would be completely different. They would be preparing us for worst, not leading the supporters on.
