Brownlow has become a popularity contest like all of the AFL awards.

Naicos could be subbed-off at qtr time and still get 3 votes just from the hype.
And Nas is the first Sants player since Nick Riewoldt that looks close to winning that popularity contest.

Not long now before pundits and journalists all stop stumbling over his 9 syllable name and cling gleefully to the single syllable Nas/Naz (note to Ben Dixon; for most it is "Naz", absolutely not "Nazzie" and to you it is "Sir")

He's already at Fraser Gehrig-Jack Steven-Max King status of being adored at St Kilda and recognised by the greater AFL world. Starting to enter Harvey-Riewoldt territory of being universally respected.

As an aside I'd love to have watched the last 10 mins of yesterday's match with Nicky Winmar and got his thoughts. Heir apparent indeed.

If it's Geelong it's probably pick 26 or something.Very thin draft too. I's a first round draft pick for $1 million a year x 8 or whatever it is on top of Marshall's wage. Bloody expensive pick.
We don't have to trade him, he is contracted.

Hope you are right. Source?
Makes sense since he and his manager met last Wednesday.
I mean, at some point they had to make a decision.

Then why was Ross’s answer at the presser so down.
Because some people, obviously including yourself, perceived it that way.

Others such as me thought nothing of it.

From Darley, would rather not.
Not getting the reference sorry.

But by “homegrown” I meant picked, nurtured and developed from the draft.

Yeah I agree which is why I said its a shame its this draft, last year wouldve been happy to do it.

I've been a big fan of asking for a player in return for Roma simply because of your reasoning, SDK was the dream if it was Geelong he was going to. Both contracted for 2 years though so balls in each clubs court.

Trade for the other De Koning or O'Sullivan.

Windy's putting in a strong argument for better terms too, just quietly.

Max Hall's game on Saturday is being overlooked, he was instrumental in that last quarter.

Never mind his last 8 weeks.
