Loved what I've seen from Frank but I'm being a bit conservative simply because the first half of the year he stunk.

His last month has been exceptional though so I'm hoping he can carry through that form over pre season and be a good player for us in 2026. Been looking like prime Darren Jarman out there the last month.
FTFY

Lachie Cowan - Jacob Weitering - Nick Haynes
Nic Newman - ???????????? - ???????????

Ollie Hollands - Patrick Cripps - ???????????
Marc Pittonet - Jagga Smith - Sam Walsh

Matt Cottrell - Harry Mckay - Zac Williams
Ashton Moir - Charlie Curnow - ???????????

Adam Cerra - ?????????? - ??????????? - George Hewett

I pretty much see it like this. The question marks could be filled internally by some promising kids like Wilson, Carroll, Lucas, Dean etc but with the club clearly stating that we're going to be targeting speed and runners in over the off season I'd imagine we'll be looking to bring in some mature options and hope if the youngsters come on in leaps and bounds that at least they're there as depth options.
Pittonet isn't vfl level so how do you have him in🤦‍♂️

Our contract situation is officially 'up the shit'.

There is a world in which Frank or Motlop have to go on account of list spots..
Docherty
McGovern
Acres
JSOS
TDK
Orazio
Monahan
Elijah?
Cincotta
Lemmey

Should have plenty of list spots to fit in Frank.

Motlop good tonight with more time on ball but I still don't rate him at all up forward.

Getting rid of Durdin before either of Frank or Motlop, contract or not.

Am I being ridiculous, I just don't understand why JSOS wants to leave. He's valued and finally he will dominate a position of need.

I'm shocked that this is even happening.
I was at Charlie's crew last month and Jack was there. I thought to myself he's the only one I would count on never leaving.
Why for goodness sake.

On Boyd, what has happened? So confusing he's a great user.
Fantasia gosh I wish his body would hold up.
Can't we send him overseas to help him?

Feel quite sick in the stomach putting a line through De Koning, Silvagni and Hollands for 2026

Possibly our three most transformative players in terms of list need.

Possibly, but I'd back in Kemp to have similar impact to Marsh early days. Not sure he'll be in our sights (very promising talent though).

If Arki Butler from the 2026 crop was available this year I'd be moving heaven and earth to get him in. He's everything we need up forward from a small fwd.
Cheers.. I'll watch some highlights on him.

Then recruit a better one
Smith from Brisbane
Reeves from Hawks
Moyle from Gold coast
Even Ladhams from Sydney are all massive upgrades on Pittonet
We also need help for Weitering because young stinks
Based on what? Pittonet has been an AFL level ruck for years now. Reeves, Smith and Moyle have been plugging away in the VFL and Ladhams is a peanut who got booted from Port for hanging out with bikies and drug dealers.

Other than Newman I don't trust many down back to genuinely hit damaging targets and get a lot of the ball.

Cowan, Carroll and Wilson all show promise but imo if we want to be contending in the next couple years we need to address that with a mature ager or two down there.

Josh Lindsay is still on the wishlist but finishing 11th will mean thats incredibly unlikely with the TDK compo.

Would also love to see Cow tried on ball over the pre season, I think he has all the traits to be a gun inside mid similar to that of Sam Durham. Just a physical beast around the contest and can spread and close space well. Love to see it at least tried.
I trust them to release players by foot and run their measure alongside that.

We need wingers that aren't just endurance freaks who act as extra defenders, and development. If we want to open up space for another runner, inject Cowan into the stoppage.

Monahan is cat B.

Comfortable with your list otherwise, but would rather retain a few and find new homes for players like Binns and Young.

While I have great respect his work ethic and moral centre, Pittonet's greatest claim to fame on the field for us is holding back TDK's development for 2 years.

Hawthorn ruined his legs.

Imo Chesser would be a massive steal if he's over his ankle issues. WCE in a bit of a pickle with his contract situation but the last month of footy he's looked an exceptional talent off the wing. Attacking, explosive and strong over the ball.

Would be very happy to see him take Acres place if we do move him on. Would come cheap as chips too given he's missed so much footy.

Eagles have offered him a 2 yr contract. Does he take it??

If TDK is gone, I want us to go into next year with HOK, Pitto and we should pick up Flynn Riley. I'm happy to take the risk.

From the sounds of it Liam Reidy will be depth we acquire in that space.

Would like to keep Young just in case he's needed for any of the KPP roles, doesn't go too awfully in the ruck when he's been asked to tbf to him.

Lewis Young may not be a superstar but still handy and worth keeping imo.

A bulldogs friend of mine said Young played a bit in the ruck at the dogs, would be worth a try could free him up and not have to panic so much.

TDK is gone. We all know that. We get a first-round pick (10) for him.

JSOS looks like he's gone as well. We'll hopefully get a second rounder for him.

Personally, I'm on the 'trade Curnow' bandwagon. If it nets us 2 x 1sts from Sydney or whomever, and we can then use those picks (plus the TDK and JSOS picks) to add a pacy outside mid (who can kick) or two and a small forward, I'd be pretty happy.

I have no idea whether TDK is gone or not...a mate of mine who is quite senior at the club also isn't sure. Odds are he's probably gone, but I believe he's still genuinely attached to the club. He's not going to get the same love at the Saints and pressure on him to perform will be huge.

BTW...I never ask my mate for inside information. Don't want to compromise his position and our friendship.

Kingy and Dunstall summing it up perfectly post game.

No hope of winning a flag unless we get ourselves a pair of quality half back flankers who can really run and deliver the footy and another spark up forward.

I'd add to that replacing Acres, loved him in 2022-2024 but fear his body has taken a big enough beating that his physical play no longer outweigh his poor disposal.

Not going to have the currency to pull out a Bailey Dale so Austin is going to have to do some serious moneyball work with role players and on the outer players who can make an impact.
Campbell Chesser is a perfect replacement for Acres

I laugh when people think Pittonet, Young are best 22 there literally on the list as emergency cover for injuries I'm really worried we have no help for Weitering and if jsos goes we have no one to play on the big forwards I really hope we have a couple of key defenders targeted

2026
Can Charlie Curnow play a Blicavs role?
Pittonet Centre ruck then Charlie roams the ground.
No boundary throw ins. Cripps ruck stoppages.
5 on the bench. Pittonet rotates off
