For them to keep upping, we either have upped or he really doesn’t want to go there….

Apart from the $$$$$$$, why would anyone want to go to that irrelevant Rabble of a Club & play in front of Norf/Bulldogs type crowds.

Saints now offering TDK 8 years at $1.8M on Ch7 Sports news bulletin in Slowbart
If TDK holds out until the very last minute, those imbeciles might well end up giving him 20 years and 4.5M a season.
Do it Tommy, ask for more.

If Jack leaves will he trigger band 1 compo? If he does, are we more comfortable with him going?
Earlier in the year he was playing great footy and thought we can’t afford to lose him however now that Ofarell and Cowan have come along I’m not as fussed if he goes also he gets injured quite often.Hold our offer if he goes so be it.

110%, mental pygmies most of them. You just cannot trust them at all, look a million bucks when it’s going their way and fold like deck chairs when it’s not.

Need to investigate moving a couple on for fair value, I hope Wright is allowed to do what I feel he wants to do where he has no emotional attachment to any of them.

I agree and to me this is a far more plausible explanation to our demise than that of the players and coaches suddenly going from being aligned to fractured over the course of the second half of the Richmond game in round one.

I think the players cannot handle pressure. When the acid comes mid match regardless of the opposition they go to water. Every opposition team knows it as do our players IMO. I reckon you can tell when it starts happening mid game coz it’s like a domino effect:
- Cripps starts trying to take the opposition on by himself, instead of handballing to a free teammate in a better position
- Walsh starts demanding the handball even when he is about to get tackled only to end under having to dump kick under pressure
- Weitering starts slowing the play of the ball to walking pace
- the peripheral players miss a couple of passes and drop their heads
- defenders jumping into opponents inside d50 and giving away completely needless frees and goals
- Charlie and Harry both start getting very indecisive and can’t work out whether to shoot for goal or pass

Unfortunately this is exacerbated by the main guys have a lot of power and sway at the club. The Teague experience was mortifying. Cripps openly lobbied for him to get the job, then when the review came he rolled over on Teague quicker than a cheap hooker. I think this has been a problem for a long time. Judd was the messiah. Gibbs got put in the leadership group before he’d played a game. The board overrode a 2 x premiership coaches choice for club captain.

This doesn’t happen at other clubs. The coach is given more control. Imagine if a player started whinging to his mates, family, manager or the media about coaching tactics under Clarko, Lyon, Dimma, Chris Scott or Horse. They’d be gone. We’ve sacked coaches almost every three years for the last 2 decades. If I was Wright I’d be sending at least one of the “big stars” packing. Send a message. The adults are in charge now.

He’s not very good at maths though.
He said closer to 700, but then said the contract was 2.5m (which is 625k per year).

So who knows which figure is correct?

I’m inclined to believe Jake Niall’s article “near enough to $600,000”.

What I think you'll end up finding is all of their numbers are close to the mark.

Niall is reporting the base salary of which there will be incentives that gets him up to the numbers other are reporting.

Collingwood's base is probably close to the max he can get from us and probably has incentives of it's own.

Whatever the case Petroro has leaked numbers previously to Niall.

Too my eye, he needs to just slow it all down a fraction. I think he rushes everything he does and either falls over, fluffs the disposal, runs into trouble, or fumbles. He gets to the right spots and creates opportunities, just lacks a bit of composure and I feel like if it slowed down just that little bit, composure will come along with better outcomes for him.
Slow is smooth smooth is fast 👍

$18,253,000 shared amongst 40 players is $455,000 per player. Being the 10-12 players are either rookies or first year or second year players. Minimum pay for these players is $150,000. So 25% of our list is likely on $200-300,000. So the average senior player is on around $530,000. It’s not a stretch to put him on $750,000 for 4-5 years.
If we have 6 players on roughly 1M each, that brings the average for the rest down markedly.

Then, we'd have 12 M for players 38 players. Even paying 180k for 15 players leaves around 9M for 20 (ish) players.

No one complained about Motlop when he was kicking important goals in the SF in 2023.

The ability is there. It's all in the head.
He's not clean enough.

Fumbles or second grabs far too often IMHO.

That's a non-negotiable for his position.
