I'm serious; I don't remember what was happening on the injury front in 2015 but if you take our two best (arguably) key position players from this year's side... say, Harry McKay and Weitering (the 'structure' I was talking about in my last post) and O'Farrell for appearances sake, and replace them with any other players on our list, then that leaves a demonstrably worse side on paper than one we could have theoretically fielded in 2015. Our two best KPPs (arguably) might sound like a lot to secede but it's pretty tenuous stuff if you think about it and other players in the competition are rapidly overtaking them.

Our hope doesn't lie in the next three years.

Really interested as to why we would.delist Cincotta?
I would delist 10 before him. He plays tough
Is it injury related?
He is a bit like Ed Curnow in that the only role he can play is as a stagger, and in our midfield there is no room for a tagger, if we need to lock down that goes to George.

I would happily pay Jack $700-750k for 5 years. No issue

In new salary cap structure it isn't much and the kid is Carlton all the way. This is more than money for me. This is history and heart and I believe playing FB (which people attacked me for suggesting) he could be a pillar for us for next 5-6 years

I see his signature as a key to us bouncing back quickly and for many reasons
$18,253,000 shared amongst 40 players is $455,000 per player. Being the 10-12 players are either rookies or first year or second year players. Minimum pay for these players is $150,000. So 25% of our list is likely on $200-300,000. So the average senior player is on around $530,000. It’s not a stretch to put him on $750,000 for 4-5 years.

JSOS is worth what the market has set for him. If Pies offer is 4 or 5 years on a bit more coin, then pay up Carlton. Very good value here if you think about how free agency contracts are steadily increasing every year.

Have you accounted for X number on say $1m?

Based on Jack's output the last 3 years $700k seems a very good offer, quite possible in 2 years time Dean & O'Farrell will be keys in our defence structure.

Also feel our window has passed & Wright may believe getting more young talent rather paying more to some of $ driven players.
Got to get the balance right between youth and heart and soul consistent types … that is offloading players that actually play with maximum effort consistently will not lead to any place good imo … Jack has to be retained … for so many other reasons as well … I for one who am as rusted on as anyone will turn off auto renewal on my memberships next year if a Silvagni is running around for the filth … everybody has their limits … for some it’s poor performance etc but I’ve stuck with with them through all that but this would be my tipping point … but that’s just me …

Going to get flamed, but Motlop will be a late boomer. Watch out next year with a full pre-season.
You are allowed your opinion, let’s hope you’re correct.
He is still very young and has time/room for a lot of growth.
I don’t the structure or game style does him or Durds any favours.
Move on Fogarty, Evans before those 2.

I’m not sure tbh but There is a chance some of our players (including motlop) play better under a better coaching system.

One good thing about Motlop he gives 100% effort.

If we attacked more and improved our ball movement and i50 deliveries our smalls should do better.

Sammy Edmund saying on crunch time our offer to SOS is a 4 year deal closer to $700k than $600k per year.
He’s not very good at maths though.
He said closer to 700, but then said the contract was 2.5m (which is 625k per year).

So who knows which figure is correct?

I’m inclined to believe Jake Niall’s article “near enough to $600,000”.

He finds it difficult to get separation in traffic - but there’s something there I think - just needs consistency - as you perhaps all in the head.
Too my eye, he needs to just slow it all down a fraction. I think he rushes everything he does and either falls over, fluffs the disposal, runs into trouble, or fumbles. He gets to the right spots and creates opportunities, just lacks a bit of composure and I feel like if it slowed down just that little bit, composure will come along with better outcomes for him.

Seems a bit of overspend, but still worth to keep him because we look so much better there with him and Weiters. Need to look after HOF and Dean and give them time to put on size which probably take them 3+ pre-seasons.

I be filthy if we offered more than 1 year to McGovern.
less than 1 year would be pretty reasonable.

After seeing what he's capable of in the 2023 finals series, I've been waiting paitently for him to show that form again. Unfortunately, for a range of reasons, it hasn't happened.

Hoping you're right and that he can prove the doubters wrong.

I 100% agree. In a proper structure and with standards I am confident Motlop will be a very good player
His playing weight is too heavy, he has no pace, no agility, average skills, can’t break a tackle, and has low awareness.

If his last name was Evans instead of Motlop, maybe people would be able to see that he’s just not up to it.
