Apologies for any inconvenience. We will try to find a replacement.
A new coach adds some risk year 1 though. I assume we will be embedding in a completely different game plan so it might take awhile to gel. We should probably have expectations of just missing finals before then jumping up from a trading point of view.If we have a top ten pick we have a new coach.
If we have a new coach, Kossie and Jackson we're a top 6 team next year. Pick 10 and 15 for Kossie looks fair IMO.
Neil Erasmus was a top ten pick. Will Brodie was a top ten pick. Sam Sturt was a first rounder. Picks are over rated. Kossie would be in our top 6 players the moment he walks in the door and is 23 years old.
I think the likelihood of a young man finding himself a father faster than he may have expected goes up with an older partner, but that's about it.

Melbourne clearly don’t want to trade Kossi without a young player coming back so we might be waiting another 12 months. I’m not trading Jackson unless there are huge overs and we have a solid backup plan, even if he requests it.

I never clicked that David Walls was Robert Walls' son, Vale Robert, and condolences to David.Freo list manager is having a particularly bad week, losing his dad this morning.
This is why we should **** JLo off ….. right now !!!!On a slightly different topic, it's fairly obvious we're not playing finals, which means (before bids) we have a top 10 pick.
Do people want us to trade two first rounders, knowing one is a top 10ish pick and a high possibility it could be two, for Kozzie?
That's an awful lot and I'm a fan of him
The question I have, with any of these options we are 3 or 4 picks short of what we need to replace the players. How can we get creative to fill in the other gaps.
That's the exact reason you don't dig a hole before you measure what you're planning to fill it with.
Don't replace Erasmus/Brodie with a teenager picked at #105
What is the point of keeping people on your list, if you won't play them.
Why would Erasmus sign a contract, if he has the option to go to any other club.
That would be because we have to have someone there and if the time comes that the person in that spot HAS to play you want the better player. I don't expect to pick someone at the end of the draft who is better than Erasmus for the next two years.
He would have to choose between similar low ball money and moving to another state or just staying here.
He wouldn't be guaranteed a spot in the AFL side of any team.
Erasmus offered a better deal elsewhere should take it. He should also strongly consider a base contract at freo for as long as they will tie up a list spot with him.
What else is he gonna say
I may have missed some things as I dont always read every post.Whether it be publically or privately I think it’s pretty evident that we are getting a trade request from LJ.
If we have no appetite to do a deal chances are we never hear about it, but I think it’s becoming more and more clear that he wants to leave.
Makes me question the calls that he’s the best bloke going around…..
At work so didn't watch the clip, was the question asked in that way? "Have you indicated you want to be traded back to Melbourne?"
If so, of course he hasn't. He isn't going to do that mid season (we aren't rugby league where it gets announced a season and half in advance), he will "indicate" at his exit meeting for the season at the earliest you would think.
I do draw a sliver of hopeium from the quotes always being that LJ has indicated he plans to stay, as compared to with the Kozzie stuff where it is acknowledgement that he wans to go but Melbourne is trying to talk him into staying.
