If we have a top ten pick we have a new coach.

If we have a new coach, Kossie and Jackson we're a top 6 team next year. Pick 10 and 15 for Kossie looks fair IMO.

Neil Erasmus was a top ten pick. Will Brodie was a top ten pick. Sam Sturt was a first rounder. Picks are over rated. Kossie would be in our top 6 players the moment he walks in the door and is 23 years old.
A new coach adds some risk year 1 though. I assume we will be embedding in a completely different game plan so it might take awhile to gel. We should probably have expectations of just missing finals before then jumping up from a trading point of view.

Melbourne clearly don’t want to trade Kossi without a young player coming back so we might be waiting another 12 months. I’m not trading Jackson unless there are huge overs and we have a solid backup plan, even if he requests it.

I think the likelihood of a young man finding himself a father faster than he may have expected goes up with an older partner, but that's about it.

The likely hood of him remarrying and having additional kids goes up as well. When you add this to the fact she played for Australia in netball, lets get him to 100 games ASAP.

I agree.

Darcy is borderline being able to play at this level anymore.

We have Reidy who needs to be delisted, and Riddle who is a skinny kid, and the back ups like Voss and McDonald and I like both in the chop out role.

With out a Darcy Cameron type coming back, Jackson could talk until he’s blue in the face about leaving.

It ain’t happening.

I’m loving the look of Whan and with Kozzie and Robinson plus other NGA’s we seem ok going forward.

On a slightly different topic, it's fairly obvious we're not playing finals, which means (before bids) we have a top 10 pick.

Do people want us to trade two first rounders, knowing one is a top 10ish pick and a high possibility it could be two, for Kozzie?

That's an awful lot and I'm a fan of him
This is why we should **** JLo off ….. right now !!!!

Get someone in to see if he can get the boys playing a competitive style ie speed up the ball movement and get some bloody i50 pressure on

If we show enough good signs = Kosi

Similar rubbish with a new voice = hit the draft ( probably ) or look for 2-3 mid range players with the right attributes ( can’t see much available myself )

Delist

Fyfe
Walters
Delean
Aish
Erasmus - if he is not playing this week, then he won't play for Freo. A new coach, may have a different opinion.
Brodie - if he is not playing this week, then he won't play for Freo. No point wasting list space, keeping him until his contract expires.
Jones - delist - already replaced
Liam Reidy - replace with a mature age ruck

Keep I guess (1 year deal)
Narkle - Keep as depth. Don't pay him much
Aiden Riddle

2 years - don't over pay any of these 3 (300k to 400k I would think), and a max of 2 years for all of them. All of them could be out of the 22 next year if they don't improve. (I expect Dudley to improve)
Isaiah Dudley
Karl Worner
Jeremy Sharp

-------------------------

I think the 8 players delisted are pretty obvious. I would like to keep Erasmus, but if he doesn't play then the club must disagree.

Replace Reidy with the best mature age ruck you can find.

The question I have is how we can replace the 7 players with 4 draft picks we have in the first 3 rounds.
In reality we have a few options

1. we will get our first pick (hopefully) and then Whan will wipe out most of the remaining draft hand.
2. We trade away our first pick, then Whan will wipe out most of the remaining draft hand.
3. Whan goes before our first pick, leaving us with our 2nd and 2 3rd round picks.

The question I have, with any of these options we are 3 or 4 picks short of what we need to replace the players. How can we get creative to fill in the other gaps.

That's the exact reason you don't dig a hole before you measure what you're planning to fill it with.

Don't replace Erasmus/Brodie with a teenager picked at #105

What is the point of keeping people on your list, if you won't play them.

Why would Erasmus sign a contract, if he has the option to go to any other club.

That would be because we have to have someone there and if the time comes that the person in that spot HAS to play you want the better player. I don't expect to pick someone at the end of the draft who is better than Erasmus for the next two years.

Why would Erasmus sign a contract, if he has the option to go to any other club.

He would have to choose between similar low ball money and moving to another state or just staying here.
He wouldn't be guaranteed a spot in the AFL side of any team.

Erasmus offered a better deal elsewhere should take it. He should also strongly consider a base contract at freo for as long as they will tie up a list spot with him.

I would keep Erasmus as well, but if I was him I would leave if someone gave me a path way to an AFL team.

We have 4 mids out, and he can't still play as a mid.

Brodie is 1 level below Erasmus, and it just a waste of list space. Replace him with a mature ager, and if it doesn't work out try again next year.

Well, he could have attacked the journalist, yelling and screaming at him about never betraying Freo and anyone who says he would is a dead man, with JL and JT having to hold him back and drag him back towards the plane.

Full Mad Dogga.

Still won't believe it until the door closes end of trade period.

Whether it be publically or privately I think it’s pretty evident that we are getting a trade request from LJ.

If we have no appetite to do a deal chances are we never hear about it, but I think it’s becoming more and more clear that he wants to leave.

Makes me question the calls that he’s the best bloke going around…..
I may have missed some things as I dont always read every post.

From what I can gather some guy on a footy channel said Jacko may want to go back. When asked for evidence he said "Listen to Max Gawn". They then cut to Max Gawn and when asked for evidence he said, he heard it on the footy channel.

Then someone on here said there was a facebook post from Dogga which implied he might like to leave but another poster said the post said the exact opposite. When asked for evidence the first poster says he doesnt believe the post.

Serious question: am I missing anything? Why would he want to go back to Melbourne footy club anyway when he is from here?

At work so didn't watch the clip, was the question asked in that way? "Have you indicated you want to be traded back to Melbourne?"

If so, of course he hasn't. He isn't going to do that mid season (we aren't rugby league where it gets announced a season and half in advance), he will "indicate" at his exit meeting for the season at the earliest you would think.

I do draw a sliver of hopeium from the quotes always being that LJ has indicated he plans to stay, as compared to with the Kozzie stuff where it is acknowledgement that he wans to go but Melbourne is trying to talk him into staying.

The question was broad enough to include if he had directed his manager to look into it.
