Yeah I don't like what we reverted to (even though we got through). Then Sharp needs to keep the outside wing role and not change. That was an issue second half of the season that came back to bite the team. Lock in the wingers.
Enough of this JOM defensive stuff.

Can seek AFL permission to seek exemption from the rule - depends on the age demographic of the list. Designed so teams can't trade their future away and expect a handout later on.What's the requirement for first round picks again? If we trade ours it means we've only used one in a four year period?
Sharp could have been signed to quite a budget contract to have someone who isn't a teenager able to rotate through the team in the event someone with more of a dynamic game isn't available.
He has a huge tank when his body is able to run, covers a mountain of km but needs to be able to get into space to work off his opponent.
Once a player signs a contract the terms should remain the same even if they move clubsI love it. Merret re negotiated his contract for more money. These managers signing players up long term then telling them they will be moved regardless is a joke. Clubs need to take the power back.

Would probably solve a lot of issues in one fell swoop
I don't entirely disagree actually. Feels like we're always either bombing it down the line (low risk/low reward) or trying to link up fast through the middle (high risk/high reward).Said he wants people to help improve on our slow play lol.
Yeah slow play like the way Bris tore us apart. Not our version of slow play in the past where we chip it around the backline for ages and then end up bombing it long to a contest anyway.I don't entirely disagree actually. Would be nice to be able to use the switch kick with better effect and pick our way slowly through zones.
Yeah unless you can’t sign a new deal once you move and are locked into your current contract till it expires… watch these 8 year deals disappear then and it’d probably miraculously cure a lot of homesickness in the blink of an eyeThat is what happens... right until the moment the trade is completed then they sign a new deal.
I expect Merrett had a front loaded deal too.
I do think the distinction being made is significant though. Trades, even significant trades, can go from "not in the picture" at the start of the trade period to "done" by the end. Let alone "not in the picture" a month out. They're the exception, but an exception that nonetheless happens often enough. Not the example some would want to hear, but the JOM trade to us happened very quickly.![]()
Dockers dangle early pick in bid to secure mature talent
Fremantle is open to tabling its first pick in the 2025 draft if there was another opportunity to improve its listwww.afl.com.au
Translation: We got nothing coming peeps, wrap it up
It's not the club. It's Perth and WA in general. The club can't make Perth into Dubai.Honestly wish we went hard for Zac Bailey. Would be literally perfect for us. Really sucks that we can't lure anyone who's not West Australian. Need to work on making our club more appealing.
Also, listening to JB we're not targetting anyone to help move the ball off half back and actually said that our scoring off half back is in a good spot. Said he wants people to help improve on our slow play lol.
We used the switch kick a lot a couple of years ago. We are more direct now albeit probably not going the first option often enough.I don't entirely disagree actually. Feels like we're always either bombing it down the line (low risk/low reward) or trying to link up fast through the middle (high risk/high reward).

I'll let you in on a little secret - every team is younger after draft day then before it!Dockers list getting younger again?
Exactly what I mean - slow play works if you have good kickers.Yeah slow play like the way Bris tore us apart. Not our version of slow play in the past where we chip it around the backline for ages and then end up bombing it long to a contest anyway.
No they aren't.I'll let you in on a little secret - every team is younger after draft day then before it!
A very solid player for us. Felt it was a bit harsh to banish him for the last 2 seasons.
Freo was one of the few clubs that didn’t attend the trade 'speed date' discussions on Tuesday, so I don't mind the move to make it known publicly that our first rounder is available for a rebuilding club. It will not only get the attention of list managers, but also players that might want to come to or return to WA. Worst case is we let Walls draft another talented youngster.![]()
