Peter’s had the inside running on this one a long way out. I think the Hawthorn word is because of the easy path with them holding Carlton’s 1st. If we can find the capital the goalposts might shift.

So the Saints backline as it stands will consist of: Wilkie, Silvagni, Aleer, Tauru, Siclair and Nas.

Is it? Looks to me like they’re bringing in 2 middle of the road key defenders, one of which has a significant soft tissue injury history, on very inflated contracts.

What I see is a bunch of mostly overpaid players that know saying YES to Saints will set up their pension and life post footy, good on them.

Sinclair is a B+ player that will only decline
Nas a good player that turns over the ball more than I would expect for a 2 million dollar player.

This will implode like nothing we've ever seen in the game. It's got Grubbys & SOS fingerprints all over it.

You could add TDK to that list. He's not worth anywhere near 1.7m per year. It's a big risk but they were solid this year without those players as well as King and phillipou. I can see it blowing up in their face but they could also improve a lot. I'm just glad we're not over paying for any of those guys

Couldn't agree more. He's becoming an absolute matchwinner in the JDG mould.

I've watched quite a few Suns games just to watch him play.

I can't see any way we could get a hold of him, but we can dream.

Yeah, if he loves the lifestyle, we'd be no chance, I guess.

Going against the grain but Treloar is no for me

Firstly, he still won’t be cheap in terms of cash or length of contract… not sure where that money is coming from and don’t want to revisit the Wells contract just so as to beat out other clubs

Secondly, the list needs to rejuvenate at some point. Moving on 23 year olds like Macrae (justifiably) and replacing them with 34 year olds … just destroys list balance down the track
