If Rowell comes in, expect De Goey to be offered up in that deal.

You won't like it, but it's exactly what will happen.

It would have to be DeGoey and a F1, F2 or current pick 36 for Rowell and a 2nd or 3rd rounder back.
If DeGoey was put up, it's going to have to be a complex deal to get it over the line...

Cameron is staying.
He said last night at club 42, he doesnt plan on leaving. He is actually planning on moving closer to AIA (currently in bentleigh, plan is to move to hawthorn)
Loves the club.

He'll leave it to his management to sort out a new deal.

Losing Cameron while keeping Cox would be an utter disaster.

Hope The Club pays DC what he's worth.

I mean I’d have thought many would have at least considered it as a possibility if not a probability with zero trade currency. Without knowing what else is required I’d back the club in if they chose that path.

How does Cox want to play on with the form he is putting together?
He won’t have kicked double digit goal across two seasons combined the rate he’s going at.

Seriously….it would be a foolish move to have him go on in the form he is in
He is well and truly in decline if he hasn’t flatlined already
Who is covering Cameron if he goes down? We need to recruit a pure ruck or stick with Cox, Steene or Smit as our back up. Cox is by far our best Cameron back up atm imo.

Prob get one in the SSP/Rookie, depending if we have rookie spots. Because the senior list spots will be very very tight given we need 3 for our draftees ( prob for Cox, mitchell, macrae spots) given they want the rest of the 30's to go on, and I assume frampton will get a contract. No other senior players apart from those OOC, and we know the club is about to enter talks with Oscar.
Might depend what we do with the rookies (Sullivan, Dean, Markov, Johnson) and do we keep both MSD's, if so they prob will replace two of dean, Markov, Johnson.
Unless there is anyone that wants to move for opportunity.

Your last sentence is the one Jen. This time last year, who thought Noble and Richards would leave.

There will probably be a surprise or two at the end of the year.

I still can’t fathom why we would be messaging Bulldog officials re Bont when he’s a UFA.
Surely we’re only in contact with his manager?!

I can’t imagine North were texting Pies’ officials about Maynard bc his contract was drawing out.

Truly bizarre.
Because we wouldn’t. Ralphy is making up stories again without even thinking shit through.

I’d be willing to accept that given Jordy’s output over the past 2 years.

I think thats harder to predict this time around. Unless its Allan, Only Ryan would be looking for more opportunity but don't think there would be that interest in him. Otherwise I can't see who would leave thats in contract.
Those OOC are mostly oldies or depth.

We've lost or moved on two decent players each year under Fly/Leppa.

Grundy, Henry
Adams, Ginni
Noble, Richards

If we could accept it….. that’s fine.

Would the Suns take him anyway? They arguably already have a younger version of him in Humphrey, a goal kicking mid/fwd

Bias aside Rowell to Jordy would be quite the downgrade for them.

Maybe, but as someone else pointed out, he has Dusty like qualities at his best, so Dimma would probably love him

It wouldn't be a straight swap - we'd have to add more due to injuries and age.

I'd hate it. I love watching Jordy play.

Allan, Sullivan, Ryan, Parker, Jiath, Harrison, Steene. Not saying any one player is likely to ask for a trade, but these are the guys who could.

De Goey I don’t think would want to go but there’s a chance we encourage him to consider it because his contract/output is not really helping us lately.

Steene is about to enter talks on a new deal. Allan is playing games. Sullivan too, but could see if someone offers him a regular gig as a mature ager
TJ just signed a new deal. Parker is contracted and as a cat b I cant see him leaving. Harrison is coming off an ACL. Ryan? Would he have interest. Prob unlikely.
A very low chance I would say.

Cox i think knows he's toast so is just saying he wanted to play on but won't

Can't help but feel JDG's worth is at rock bottom right now. Hopefully he can get back on the park not only to help us this year (maybe beyond) and boost his value.

At this stage the best part about getting rid of him would be freeing the cap room.

And there also lies the problem.

Getting trade value and salary cap relief are likely to be mutually exclusive. If we want GC to take his whole contract, given what you have just said about his value, we would have to load even more trade compensation up to make it worthwhile.

Mate, people who think we should trade Jordy are morons.

I don't think it's that big compared to what they're paying now with the cap increase - unless it's indexed to the cap.
