I thought Ollie Henry was a good player ...and didn't he kick 40 odd goals last year

Im confused why geelong would trade him
Surely they won't trade him.
Didn't he leave collingwood becouse he was homesick?
We're can they possibly trade him for him not to be homesick?
Torquay?
Leopold?
Lara?

Mumma's boy being shipped off to GWS would be GOLD.
It would be but what club makes list management decisions when their season isn't over. No such reporting of it down here in Geelong. Then again there was no reporting of Stengle OD nor of a young players absence this year with groin related issues

Poor Ollie ..at least hes close to his mummy..she will pick him up and drive him to all 44
Souldnt
God no, he'll need to be flown home every week to get a dose of breastfeeding from mummy.
Common mate thats harsh!
Maybe the kid is a man-child?.
Sleeps with the light open, wears nappies at night, and his mother's still baths and dresses him.
Buys his clothes also

Simples. Cocoroc. Let him represent a special farm.

And yes it seems we're looking at tall forwards just in case Checkers leaves.
I think we'd be looking at tall forwards anyway. Checkers, McStay, Cox and Membrey have a fast approaching used by date.

Yup, exciting times.

I am guessing Elliott stays and is the on field leader of the new look forward line.

Buller would play ahead of Checkers and Membrey next year anyway.
If we can steal this kid it will be the pickup of the trade period.

Yep, I would have thought one year with a trigger for a 2nd.

Billy, is completely different though. Give him whatever he wants 😆

Yeah a 60 goal season is worth a 2 year deal i think. :tearsofjoy:
Not only that, he's a high pressure forward that can do anything, backmen get very nervous when they play on him.

I would of thought, Checkers, 1 year with a trigger for a 2nd and Billy 2 years with a trigger for a 3rd. I wouldn't be against giving him more money over 2 years than less money over 3, with no trigger for a 3rd. But then you can include match payments.

Yep, he was a really different unit and not a popular figure among teammates at all.
I believe he showed up at Licuria’s wedding uninvited and shook his hand while the ceremony was on 😂
While at the pies he spent many many long hours on frequent Friday nights at the electrical department in his local Harvey Norman. Strange that seemed to be a social place to be. Strange.

Recollecting the dude was the only boy in a family of sisters and was full on women’s rights which didn’t really gell in that era. His form dropped off after his ex girlfriend was assaulted. The club at the time didn’t handle it well enough and instead shipped him out west

Clubs often give unwanted players plenty of notice that they would be advised to start shopping themselves around. In fact it’s fair and reasonable that they do, to give them and their managers maximum lead time.

One thing to remember with the names that came out yesterday is that they immediately followed the first trade period catch up the AFL conducted. The in person catch ups work a lot like speed dating where a bunch of names get thrown around in quick succession so I wouldn’t be reading much into it just yet outside of our depth not being raided and we seem to be on the hunt for talls.

And we saw Flys date did not end up how we thought lol.

If we secured one of Buller/McDonald from Sydney then I would be satisfied. The Swans will make a play for a high profile forward as that is what they do. So that will push Buller/McDonald further down the packing order.

Targetting Richmond key talls (Young/ Blight) is not a bad idea as Tigers are going down the youth path and loaded up with talls last draft. So I think that's another tick. Should be able to obtain a solid third defender.

The question is which club are we.going to target to obtain an inside bull midfielder? And maybe a gut running wingman. One of those needs to be elite. I wish we could some how engineer a move for a Sheezel type - that level of quality to work with Naicos.

I think they’re problems for next off-season. No one we’ll be able to convince to move is likely to move the needle much so I think we’d be better off keeping our powder dry to take a swing at King or Butters next off-season.

That wing role is a hard one to fill because it’s so specialised. I think the club will put their eggs in the Allan basket for next year or if Parker really kicks on that may release Houston or Jaicos on a more permanent basis, but if we could find one I wouldn’t complain. The training footage of HH from yesterday was exciting he might be like a new recruit if he can stay healthy because I think he’s popular with the coaching group. He’s grown into his body with the time in the gym and moves like a footballer now (I previously thought he was a bit more robotic like athletes that transition tend to).
