No one is going to able to offer Wilkie the money we could give him. Obviously money is a big sticking point for him because he isn’t happy about the money being offered to Aleer, De Koning ect.

Offer him something stupid, heavily front loaded. We’ve got the cap to do so.

The only Vic based club who’s he suit is the pies (who couldn’t offer him anywhere near as much as us), or the bulldogs who have huge amount of cap space tied up in other players.

I think it is understandable to feel undervalued when others get paid more for doing the same or a lesser job.
Disillusion leads to ‘can’t beat them, join them’. We see this with fly in fly out specialist doctors in rural areas. The ones based there see people getting $5k a day to fly in and eventually take leave to do the same in other areas.
No one wins apart from the individuals, and workplaces get worse culturally.
Same with footy clubs.
