It’s boring waiting for Nostra’s post about Dylan Shiel

As a reference, our trade with Brisbane last year for pick 20 cost us almost double the amount of points that pick 20 was worth.

Out: 32, 42, 43 & 45 (1,704pts)
In: 20 (912 pts)

(2024 points system is quoted)

So for pick 6, I imagine you may need to find another two low 2nd second rounders at least depending on demand.
They milked Richmond there because they had a bunch of picks that they couldn't use

Last year's draft was also stronger. North had to wait until the late 20s for someone to accept their F1 for a pick when it was likely top 5.

Where is the privacy in all these meetings. Has grubby Morris got a bug in the room behind the 1993 Premiership team photo, or are these loose lips on both sides of the camp?

Both Morris and Caro like a pack of Hyenas on the Serengeti fighting over an old wilder beast carcass. Same facial features as well 😎
One side has leaked it for a reason.

Jy, Zurhaar and Larkey are also getting up there now for most games without a finals appearance and most games without a finals win.

This is due to a few Suns and Crows players breaking this streak next week.
Zach Merrett.

250+.

LOL.

Question for the board....

IF we trade up for pick 6, thats leaving little to no trade capital for us to use this year. Unless we get some sort of trade capital back for players such as Phillips, Fisher, Scott and co are we more likely to offer 1 year deals and keep them as depth.

If not it appears we'd be taking a bunch of late draft long shots instead.
I'd still use 39 and 57 personally. Should be some players left at 39 as fwd/rucks, half fwds, wing/hbf or defenders.
Someone like a Blake Thredgold would be a decent punt at 57 as a defender vs keeping a Fisher or Scott imo.

or use the f1 and pick 39 to get pick 6

our 3 picks in this draft can be 6,20,21 pre bids etc

take those 3 and get out of the draft early
I'll say it again. GC still need to have enough points to pay for all of Patterson, Uwland, Addinsall and Coulson.
If they trade out pick 6 that's 1,659 pts gone that they would have to replace by trading players for picks.
More likely they want to trade back in the order and get more points to take all of their kids.

Zeke Uwland goes 1 (3,000 x 90% =2,700) or 2 (2481 x 90% = 2233).
Patterson goes 4 (1962 x 90% = 1766) or 5 (1795 x 90% = 1616)
Beau Addinsal goes at 24 (621 x 90% = 559)
Koby Coulson should be top 40 (400-250 x 90% = 360-225 pts)

GC currently have 6, 12, 15, 30, 56, 66 = 4,226 pts
That only covers 2,200 at least for Uwland, Patterson should be 1,600 and Addinsall 500.
They'll need more points if they want to get Koby Coulson.
So if GC trade out pick 6, I'm not sure how they'd have enough points to pay for them.

If they want to they can go into points debt (unless that's changed). They only need to pay the debt in the same round they pick in next year so the might take 20/21 + F3 to cover off, assuming Koby is on R3. Puts them in the positive overall.

We'll probably get something like a 3rd rounder for Phillips or Scott which could come into the mix.

To be honest Pick 20/21 might be better than just taking 6 unless we're concerned about midfield depth. Multiple prospective KPF at the 20s mark... remembering that our current best one was pick 70+...volume might be the play.

Ah yep forget they can go into deficit. That might be relevant for Koby.
I think we'd be too far back after the four likely compo picks and miss on the better kids.
