Probably been said over and over in this thread, but just need to get creative with whatever picks we have in this year's draft, paired with parting ways with some players as a cleanout.

Players to go

• Tucker
• Mcdonald - Need the salary
• Darling (unless hit's performance trigger)
• Payne
• Pink

Players to target

• Busslinger (Realistic) - Key Defender, young, and hungry
• Devon Robertson (Realistic) - Wingman, who can play defence
• Josh Sinn (Maybe) - Rebound defender with great kicking skills
• Brayden Maynard (Hopefully) - Gritty Defender
• Harry Lemmey (Realistic) - Young Key forward who can pair with Larkey

Most of these young players are stuck behind the pecking order due to the team moving toward the flag or other players sitting in front of them. However, they are realistic targets who may want to play with a younger team where they can grow and more than likely see more game time in the season.

Harry Lemmy will be lucky to remain on the carlton list and that would be if they lose or shed some dead wood and dont want to take too many players. He is not a very good player and barely VFL standard.

A player that may suit you guys ( I actually think Richmond should delist him for list spot) is Jacob Kosinsky
He is playing as a KPD and doing very well for our VFL team but wont get a spot with our defence being pretty much set
wont cost anything a pick 98 swap for pick 97 should do. But he is doing very well as a KPD at VFL

Would someone like Brandon Parfitt be worthwhile for you guys?

He's back in Perth so I assume WCE might get first dibs on him if they were interested. But he was available, he would be a more defensive minded bigger body that can protect the younger mids a bit and at least provide a physical presence.

He's no superstar - he's basically the K-Mart Tom Atkins. But as a free MSD type swing that you'd have to only pay minimum chips, is he someone that's been considered?

Thought Lemmey was just like most key forwards, taking time to develop? Aaron Cadman still taking time and Nick Larkey took some years before he got there. Lemmey has some preseasons under his belt and I think just needs a second home to give it one last run. A very late pick would do it like you said.

If he wanted a move, he definitely would be on the radar. I think he said in his contract extension that he loved living on the coast and loves the team, however maybe dimma might let him go for the right price.

is a slightly richer man's Will Phillips. Was never that talented to start with, and will crumble in our system, or lack thereof.

I'd take him over Tom Powell but that's not a compliment

He could really only play one role, and we already had Atkins and have been developing Clark in that role, so he found it hard to get a consistent look in. If he'd added more strings to his bow, he'd have gone further IMHO, but as it was we just had one too many of the same type of player.

Maybe a bit like Will Phillips for you guys? Can't play anywhere but mid, so you either shunt everyone else around to fit him in or drop him.

Seems too good not to be playing AFL , like Will. Maybe another team will pick him up.

I've been a big advocate of picking up guys like Parfitt, Brew, etc. dependable defensive mids, and trading out 1 or 2 of our others that might have the currency to improve other areas of the ground.

He certainly can't make our midfield worse.

Knowing how Brady operates you will probably end up trading us Kosinsky for your 2025 2nd rounder back.

Weird list?

I don't rate either Tucker or McDonald, but, as crazy as it sounds, they have probably been our two best defenders this year. We aren't getting anything for them in a trade. Ideally, they get overtaken, and we keep them as depth.

Darling has played his role and has been meh.... but he has another year or two on his contract. There are plenty of uncontracted guys who we'd be keen to axe first. Harvey, Teakle, CCJ, Phillips, Bergman, Kal Dawson: that's six easy ones. Unless we have a couple of free agents wanting to join us, or plan on raiding the state leagues, we haven't got the draft collateral to bring in many more.

Payne and Pink - sure, if we have to. But Pink is capable KPD back up and Payne is starting to show something even if he still isn't fit yet. Not sure the point of offloading either of these two - unless we need the list spots.

Don't know if Aleer would entertain a move to North, last I read Brisbane were keeping tabs on him. THAT said, like someone else mentioned, he'd quite easily get game time with us. Would like ot think we'd be looking at him.

The Maynard rumor hasn't gone away, I do hope we can get him over the line, even though I don't like him. He's the kind of grub you hate, but also the kind that are glad he's on your team!

Probably not a realistic one, and especially as he's just done his archilles but I wouldn't mind Sam Draper
